From the moment we pulled up to valet the car, the valet people were so helpful not only parking the car , but made great suggestions on where to go for entertainment , directions to restaurant's, shops ect. !!! The breakfast at the hotel was excellent! Amber and Silvia took such GREAT care of us!!!!They were the sweetest!!!! The mattresses and pillows were so comfortable! We had a great view of the water with the boats coming and going all day! So pretty! The hotel was in a perfect location for all attractions.

From the moment my husband and I entered the doors of this hotel, we were treated like valued guests. The staff member who checked us in (I believe her name was Bonnie and she's the bookkeeper for the hotel) was incredibly warm, courteous, and professional. She informed us that she upgraded us to a water view room, which was spacious, clean, and indeed had a great view of the Maine waterfront from our window. The lobby was large and inviting enough for a large party to settle in with pizzas in the evening and catch up without being obtrusive to any of the other guests. The bar was lively and the gas fireplace was a nice feature, though it wasn't working. Complimentary breakfast and valet parking were indulgent perks that we really appreciated, and I can't emphasize enough how every single staff member was friendly and professional. We can't wait to go back!

As I said on the hotel's site, everybody I met connected with the hotel was courteous, helpful, and friendly. The room was big, with a water view; your bargain was excellent--parking was particularly helpful, given the cost of it in Portland--and we got an excellent location for both walking and driving. And, after this long Covid world, it was delightful to have daily cleaning/tidying/restocking service again from the lovely hotel cleaning staff.

Portland has become a real foodie haven in the past few years, and many excellent restaurants, old and new, are in easy reach of the hotel. It connects to a very nice walk along the waterfront that leads to a park, and it's also within a fair walk of much of the downtown agora.

We had a lovely one night stay here just before Easter weekend. It's located on the north side of the old port, within walking distance to all of the many restaurants and shops there. the staff were great and helpful. Our room overlooked the harbor, and was nice and clean. We took in the staff's recommendations and enjoyed a nice evening out and a complimentary breakfast in the morning. check in and checkout was simple and the valet parking left us free to walk around the old port.

The Hotel is located right on the waterfront and convenient to everything (bike/walking path, great restaurants, etc.) Our room had an excellent water view which we enjoyed while in the room and the beds were just the right balance of firmness and comfort. There was free coffee in lobby which tasted very good. The breakfast was made to order and was so good I would go here even if I wasn't staying at the hotel. All in all the hotel is an excellent choice for staying in downtown Portland.

The hotel was nice, the room was nice, but the staff person at the front desk was very new and made a few mistakes.
She told me valet parking was $30/day but it was included in the reservation. I was not charged for parking. When I went to breakfast, I was told I would be charged for it. When the staff went to the front desk to check with my room number and name, I was told that breakfast was not included, and I could discuss it with the front desk. I skipped the hotel breakfast after that unpleasant experience. The ofood looked to be mediocre as well.
Otherwise the hotel was nice, clean, no complaints about the room.
The price was high for the value, especially in the off season.

Positive: The staff were wonderful: knowledgeable, helpful, friendly. Great view of the harbor from our room. The room was a good size and had a sofa-bed. Breakfast and dinner were both well-prepared.
Negative: The sofa wasn't very comfortable to sit on. The drapes didn't completely close, so a streak of sunlight streamed into the room in the morning and woke us. Also, there were more than a dozen small holes in the drapes, which allowed narrow beams of sunlight to stream into the room in the early morning.

It was a great room with a lovely waterview. They also had a nice pet package, along with the nice Travel Zoo welcome bag with snacks! thanks! All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly in addition. The Travel Zoo deal was wonderful: including a coupon for a very nice made to order breakfast, and valet parking included. Upon check out we noted that they had charged us for valet parking, but immediately removed it and apologized profusely. The hotel is also very convenient to restaurants and shopping.

My friend and I have stayed here at the same time of year for the past 2 years. Staff members are very pleasant and helpful. We wanted to stay an extra night, however, the hotel was booked for the night.

The only complaint we have is the temperature of the room was too hot, and the controls on the thermostat wouldn't work correctly. Someone was supposed to come and check on it for us, but that never happened. It seemed that the hotel staffing was low.

2nd or third time booking this hotel through TravelZoo and it has been a great experience each time. The hotel is very well run and in a great location to access all of Portland. The free parking and full very good breakfast are a substantial savings. Upon entering the room there was a nice complimentary snack bag from TravelZoo and it was apparent that the hotel liked working with TZ and not so much other 3rd party booking services. All in all a solid 10!

There apparently was a fire drill that would be starting at 8am. I asked the process knowing I would need to be up early. Apparently at some point they decided to move it to another way. Would be great if they informed the guests who posed questions so I could have slept in. Also, stains on the comforter and expired creamer.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay very accommodating, and specifically Mike T. The valets always very nice. Great breakfast and the appetizers at night were very good. Our room on the 6 floor overlooking the ocean was really, really nice and big.

It is important for guests to know that this hotel is in a very busy part of the City—in fact, it is directly across from a working harbor, and the day starts at 5AM. So, a waterfront room, while scenic, is also a window to the daily work and commute for many folks. The staff was very cheerful, especially the breakfast staff. Given staffing shortages in the industry, this team did not appear frazzled or overworked—a rarity that likely reflects on the management of the hotel. A suggestion for the bathroom that would be a marriage saver: “soft close” lid on the toilet.

We had an amazing time and every staff person we encountered was very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a harborview room which was an unexpectedly nice treat. They also allowed us to keep our car valeted for the second day after we had checked out so we could explore the area. Definitely will be back!

We truly loved the location of the hotel over looking the ocean and the ability to walk to the downtown area. The staff at breakfast was so attentive and friendly Also breakfast was delicious. Ttje valet who took care of the car was friendly as well. The front desk staff was a bit aloof and did not thank us for staying or ask if we were pleased. We booked for 2. Nights. However the front desk called us a d said we were supposed to be out after one. Fortunately my husband hAd the confirmation number. The mistake was the Hiltons not Travelzoo.
