They changed us to a room with two doubles so we would have a view. I would have preferred a bigger bed and I thought that was what I communicated but I don’t think she understood me. There was no air but we could open the window. The room and comfort of beds was fine.

The valet parking was $75 per day, we only took our car out once because parking is difficult in the city. The breakfast was $39 per person for buffet, we don’t eat dairy or gluten so we were better going to a restaurant. Location is good on non hill and close to restaurants and the iconic spots.

This is an old hotel without frills. The staff is welcoming, quick to help, and very friendly. The rooms were very clean and well organized. At the Travelzoo price, it is a bargain in downtown SF.

Tony the bartender is a gem! Due to a conference of some type, the lobby was packed and extremely loud in the mornings. Free coffee was a nice touch however. All the staff are just great.

Stiff is wonderful. They seem to be making slow to little progress on their renovations. While Nob Hill is a lovely part of the city, it's expensive to go anywhere else from there and takes forever, and walking, unless you're a moi twin climber, is hard!

Everything about the hotel was nice. The shower could use some work and better cleaning. Valet parking was $75. per 24 hour but was slow getting the car because the parking lot was not on location. We were shocked that our rate thru TravelZoo was $182.43. Then add the valet + tip and more taxes came to $267.94. Transportation to Oracle Park (Giants) was another $70. because the public transportation was not close or hike the steep streets to go anywhere. It was a nice experience except for the all the extra fees and taxes.

Excellent! Although our booked room would have been an internal courtyard (no view) room the hotel - without us asking - upgraded us to a corner view suite on the top floor! And that view was fantastic - east to Coit Tower, the Pyramid, Salesforce Tower and to the south. Kudos to the Stanford Court and a great bargain through TravelZoo!

Room was larger and nicer than expected. The hotel is in a great area for our adventure. The only down side was the cocktail hour. The "free" drink -- I read it wrong,-- required extra payment to get an actual cocktail. The ambiance of the dining/bar area felt like a sports bar in a Best Western along the highway--, not at all in keeping with the rest of the hotel's elegance. And the cocktail was the worst I may have ever had. It reminded me of dive bars in Chicago back in the day--strong, but no detail to the art of mixology. Should have gone to the Tonga Room! Other than cocktail hour, we enjoyed our stay immensely!

Quick trip to see a friend. Hotel was in a great location, safe, comfortable. Disappointed there was no robe. Room could be updated slightly but was a good price for the area and I enjoyed my stay. I picked up a late night snack. A coffee cart in the morning might be nice where people can get a latte.

The value thru Travelzoo was great. The only issue was the $28.00 welcome drinks in the plan were not offered. My wife and I had two beverages at lounge and though they would be taken of invoice and at end of stay but it was not. I called Travelzoo when I got the folio and the agent said Travelzoo would resolve this and let me know if 3+/- days.

We really enjoyed everything about the Stanford Court San Francisco, except for the service after. I left something in the room and would like to pay to have it shipped. I have left 3 messages asking to be called back. I've spoken with the front desk 4 times and they say they can't do anything, but instead send me to leave a voice message (I think it's with housekeeping but I don't know.) I'm pretty disappointed that there is nobody I can speak with to try to see if they may have found my item. I"m still waiting for a call back and feel like that is not professional for a Marriott.

We really enjoyed the hotel with the rate from Travel Zoo. The valet parking is steep at $75 a day really making the vacation stay more expensive and misleading. The hotel location was perfect. We walked and walked (7 miles) to many of the neighborhoods.

The Staff was very nice especially the Manager who assisted us with restaurant reservations. The only issue is that their elevators are getting updated so the length of time to wait for the elevators were long. The option the hotel gave us was to take the service elevators.
The fitness center was very nice and clean. The bar/lounge staff were very nice as well as the housekeeping staff.

Only negatives would be the elevator has a mind of its own. There are 3 elevators but only 1 appeared to be in working order. This caused delays and forced us to take the stairs at times. Additionally, the elevator stopped at floors that did not appear to be requested by anyone. For example, we were on floor 3 and it took us to 2 then 8 before sending us to floor.

The first night we had a rather aloof staff check us in and say we wouldn’t get charged the facility fee if we didn’t use any of the facilities. (The travelzoo deal included NO fees, so we uncomfortably had to ask about that at the desk. We also had to call the restaurant asking about the included welcome drinks and they said we should’ve received a voucher at check-in, which we did not). The first night the room we were in sounded to be right below an extremely loud laundry facility or machinery room. The next night they changed our room. Only 1 of the 3 elevators were working so we had to use the service elevators most of the time. When we asked if we could get a couple of wine glasses to the room, they said they don’t have room service and to ask at the restaurant. When we asked them, the staff said they don’t let guests use the glassware for the rooms.

The location and ambience was great but the reason I would not recommend or go back was because our 7th floor room was really loud. First, it was the general traffic noise - it was loud enough that we thought the windows were open when they were not, and second, on Sunday night/Monday morning we heard loud bangs starting at around 4 a.m. and continuing periodically. We were facing west and they must have been coming from the loading dock in the alley below us. I couldn't sleep through all the noise with earplugs in.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home. Bobby greeted us warmly at check-in, and Ray handled our check-in process with ease. Both were professional, personable, and really good at what they do.
The hotel itself had a very cozy, homey vibe, which made it feel both relaxing and familiar, even though this was my first time in San Francisco. I really appreciated that sense of comfort—it's rare to find a place that feels like home on your travels. I'd definitely return to both the hotel and the city.

This was the second time using this TZ deal, as we loved it so much the first time. We had an amazing corner room on the 8th floor. All of the staff we encountered were truly amazing and went out of their way to help us. Even though they are working on the main elevators, they allow you to use the service elevator, which was actually more convenient for us!

If you Uber to the hotel, no sweat, otherwise ready to sweat. The top of the hill is no joke if you don’t pace yourself, but then the view nearby is just as breathtaking. The rooms are excellent with modern sophisticate vibe, however, if you can overlook the elevator renovations and the time to get up or down in the morning, then look no further.

Everything was fine except for the troublesome elevators . Slow , never arrive …had to take the service elevator numerous times that was also slow . Everyone who experienced the unavailable elevators should have been compensated for the inconvenience as it was not an isolated problem . This elevator problem has apparently been going on for some time and should have been addressed already .

The location is perfect for experiencing San Francisco. The free drink service was dismal and embarrassing . We did not eat here as the prices were rather on the expensive side . The rooms are comfortable , very clean rooms , we didn’t have a view but we didn’t spend time in the room anyways . Great Location! Very large hotel so we had to walk a long way to our room. Only 3 elevators and only 1 was working so there were long waits. The Travelzoo offer is what brought my attention to this hotel. The offer was good and available the dates I needed to be in SF.
I decided I wanted to upgrade for a view and the hotel accommodated for a reasonable fee. The room was lovely and very spacious. The view was exceptional and far exceeded my expectations.
All staff get 5 star.
Location was walking distance to Chinatown and across street from cable car stop and easy access to other places.

The elevators are old and very slow. They even allow you to use the service elevator, but it just takes forever. Also, I got severe food poisoning from chicken noodle soup in the bar area.

The beds were lovely. The staff was great. We enjoyed coming in and having a night cap at the hotel bar. We enjoy the workout room. Elevators are slow, but we took the stairs a lot.

The valet, the concierge, the coffee service staff were all gracious and most courteous - but they work in a dump.

The hotel decor is CHEAP, shoddy and most unattractive. Our "upgraded" room was on the second floor, which would be servants quarters in any other setting. Awful, awful, awful. We will never go back again,

Great location and we upgraded our room to have a nicer view. The rooms were nice and a good size. The only issue we had was that only one of 3 elevators was working and it made it a slow process to get to and from our room.

I loved this hotel and everything about it. World class service. Definitely a4 star hotel (heated towel rack, the toilet flushes automatically, the bed was super comfortable and the restaurant was great). Staff was very helpful. I can't wait to return.

I had a courtyard view and the room was very quiet even with a pretty full hotel. The cable car was right outside the hotel. Just an amazing stay!

We stayed here one night to celebrate our anniversary. The desk staff wished us a happy anniversary. My husband upgraded us to a view room == it was superb! Comfy bed, relaxing space. A bit of a trek up California after dinner but that's San Francisco!

We do not recommend Stanford Court San Francisco hotel. In future travel to San Francisco, we will be careful to find smoke-free hotels and there are plenty to choose from.

This hotel smells of smoke everywhere even though it is advertised as a smoke-free hotel. There was no signs of smoke-free environment throughout the hotel. We did not sleep well due to the smoke smell. We mentioned this issue with the front-desk representative, but she failed to address the issue to our satisfaction. We are very disappointed on both the hotel and the supporting staff. A nice looking hotel but the quality is severely lacking.

All Staff friendly except check out person no so much! Offered up grade upon check-in, very reasonable and took advantage of it!! Room was very clean, windows opened which was very nice to have outside air!!

Location was great, but is up a very steep hill!! Not noisy even though on two cable car routes!! Only one elevator was working so that was a little inconvenient but not too bad!!

Absolutely fantastic stay! The hotel was beautiful and staff were warm and inviting. The elevators were quirky. Location is convenient, quiet (by city standards) and well kept.
