The Godfrey was in a great location by bars, restaurants, and the lake. The standard room was one of the most spacious we have had in the city.

Business trip for a convention at Mc Cormick so it was a bit out of the way but it was worth the extra cab fare. Love the rooftop bar and have shared a pic on Facebook so friends could see how cool it was! Would've liked to have more than two bottles of water but that's my only complaint. Would also suggest a floor mat of some sort for the shower. That floor was very slippery and scared me!

Twas a lovely one night stay at the Godfrey Hotel. The bed was comfy. The shower was amazing. I’ll definitely come back. With a hotel as large as this one … it’s sometimes difficult to manage all the little things that may go awry during a stay. I let the reception desk know that one of the bathroom lights flickered incessantly which was pretty annoying and the curtains seemed to be off their track … as they wouldn’t close easily and I had to wrangle it a bit in the middle to find any give. Overall great experience. Highly recommend the spa for massage.

Travelzoo pricing was excellent! Hotel location was great. Centrally located to see the sites of Chicago. Rooms were very nice. Restaurant had good food. The rooftop bar was beautiful, drinks were higher end. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend

Great price for the hotel. I loved the hotel, the room was very nice, spacious, OK location. Had breakfast at the hotel, it was delicious. Cocktails were a little too expensive.

Clean, modern hotel in a great location near many popular restaurants and bars. Excellent value. Room was spacious and immaculate. Even the bathroom felt generously sized. Loved the Malin + Goetz products.
Other Comments
Maybe I was just unlucky or maybe it was the fact that it was a Friday night, but the street noise was out of control until very late (sirens, revving engines, etc.). My room was on the 8th floor facing La Salle Drive, so I would recommend asking for a room facing Huron Street on a high floor.

We enjoyed our stay. The rooftop bar was great with a terrific happy hour (try the hummus plate!). The bartender was personable and gave us lots of food and drink recommendations in the area. We walked most places and bus stops were a block or so away for the places too far to walk.
Other Comments
It was great. The only “negative” is that there was no chest of drawers for clothes - we called and they sent up “portable” ones (cloth, folding cubbie like).
