This hotel was very nice and the location was perfect for visiting the French Quarter and the WWII Museum, both within easy walking distance. Staff was extremely helpful from the front desk personnel to the concierge.

My only complaint is that the room did not have a refrigerator. The room was well appointed, bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a lovely shower.

Hotel is conveniently located on St Charles Ave, just a few blocks from Canal Street. Easy walking distance to many great restaurants. Room was quiet and well maintained. Our balcony looked into an office building and was quite dark. Only real negative was the pool...paint was peeling from the pool surface with many flecks floating in the water. Water was cloudy so I chose not to go in. Restaurant food on the ground floor (Trenasse) was very good and would recommend.

This was my second time staying at the Intercontinental hotel in New Orleans. This was my first time booking with Travel Zoo, even though I signed up years ago with them. The whole process was smooth,, I thought I would need to go through many emails to find my reservation, they put my license info in and right away they found me with no hassles. My room was much nicer then my first stay, the staff is extremely courteous and helpful with questions also getting taxis. The location is a short walk to many main attractions and food options. Previously when I had looked for my dates prices were high then the email came in from Travel Zoo. So happy with the whole experience, I look forward to many more occasions to book with your site and as always the Intercontinental group

The staff was very accommodating, however when we checked in they were overbooked and we were sent to another hotel. They did pick up the cab and room fee for the night but it was not as nice a hotel. We went back and stayed at the Intercontinental for the next two nights. We did not have any maid service but when we asked for something they tried to get us what we needed.

When we arrived late at night, we were not told that we had to provide the hotel with our license plate in order to park in the garage. Instead, we were expected to know this and awoke to a boot being placed on our car. We traveled with other families and each family awoke to the same surprise! I would have expected the hotel to ask its guests if they had parked in the garage upon checkin. Most other hotels would do this. Instead you were expected to read a small sign in the dark when entering the garage late at night. Also, there was no housekeeping, the rooms were dark, and the staff was not friendly. The sheets felt like plastic.

Some repairs and cleaning need to be done in the room. Toilet paper holder falls off the wall. Mold growing around bath fixtures. Bed mattresses are very worn around the perimeter.

I was a little apprehensive about staying here after I read a couple of negative reviews and saw a YouTube video stating that the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. This was the farthest thing from the truth in my experience. Everyone with whom we dealt was extremely courteous and ready to assist. The room was in great shape, clean, and quiet. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Some people didn't like the lack of daily maid service, but I wasn't bothered by it at all. In fact, I usually dread the knock on the door from the housekeeping wanting to come in and clean. We re-used out towels, made our own bed, and had plenty of trash cans in the room for our three-night stay. The location was very close to the French Quarter and a comfortable walking distance to Bourbon Street. Also, there are many eateries nearby without walking far. For the price provided by TravelZoo, this place couldn't be beat.

Staff was very pleasant at check in. There is no cleaning service for the room so things can get piled up. You have to get clean towels yourself. Can’t use mini fridge because it is completely full of overpriced items. Overall, the room was clean and the location is fantastic. I would stay again even with the few hassles mentioned previously. The restaurant next door, Tsunami, was excellent as well. We did not eat at the hotel but did hear others say it was wonderful.

I went on-line to book a room about 2 months ago, and was surprised to see the prices for hotels near the French Quarter. I booked the best one I could find which was about a mile away. And then 2 weeks later - in my regular automatic e-mail update from TravelZoo - I saw an amazing deal at the Intercontinental, which is so much closer to everything I wanted to see. I quickly booked it and cancelled my previous reservation, and it made such a difference for my trip. The location was great, the rooms were better than I expected, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating even though the hotel was buzzing with a few difference conference groups. I would definitely go back, especially at that amazing price!

The check-in staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful. The fitness room is open for 24 hours that is great! The cleaning was done by request due to Covid-19, but they did take care of our needs after the phone call. Overall, it was a very good experience of staying there. The only down side was for some reason, the wind blew hard on on us which was like we were in a wind tunnel when we were right outside the hotel. It caused my allergic reactions later; but thankfully I was wearing a mask so it was not too severe to bear.

1. The hotel had me booked in the wrong kind of room, not the kind I had requested and agreed to pay more for. If I had not had a copy of my confirmation from Travelzoo, they would not have honored my booking unless I chose to pay for an upgrade. This was not the friendliest check-in experience.
2. The balcony was disappointing, not at all what I expected, especially in New Orleans, which is known for its balconies. Instead this balcony had a view of an all-concrete "courtyard" and a concrete jungle.
3. The room itself was OK, but the lack of a door for the bathroom sink was unusual. I understand that this allows one person to use the sink while the other person is using the bathroom/shower. However, if one person is sleeping, he/she will get woken up if the other person is using the sink.

The buffet was $26 per person.

The first morning, we woke to someone trying to get into the room--apparently they gave it away. The staff were great in fixing the issue and making sure it didn't happen again. Very apologetic.
That was our ONLY issue with the hotel. Everything else was amazing. The staff were professional and very responsive.
It is about 1/2 a mile from Bourbon Street and a little less to the trollies.

Great deal on a 4-star hotel with Travelzoo. Hotel not centrally located but easy walking (if you can) from Bourbon St, Canal St, ... If you want the crazy NO experience, this is not for you but if you don't mind some quiet, then this is good.

Parking next door for about $28 (self-park) was a plus - just make sure to either check-in first or park the car and have someone stay with it (ie do not pay as attendant instructed) while you pay at hotel. The hotel was everything that you would expect from the Intercontinental brand. Clean, spacious and well appointed room, a knowledgeable, professional and friendly staff and a perfect location, centrally located within walking distance to all major attractions, restaurants and activities and with a streetcar stop at it's front door. To top it off, the in-house restaurant, Trenasse, was outstanding and well priced. I will definitely stay here again on any future trips to New Orleans. The Travelzoo special rates made this an outstanding deal!

The staff were very nice when it was something they could control The poor person answering the phone for my request to fix the TV was very nice but powerless to get anyone to help. The system is broken and it needs fixing.

The staff could not have been more helpful or nicer, both in person, and when I called to modify my trip. My king bed room had plenty of room, and the bed was super comfortable. Only two nits - the walls were a bit thin that I could hear people walking by the hallway (never in anyway that was a real nuisance), and the pillows they provided on the bed were really hard. I asked for softer pillows and they brought some right up. Loved that we were a super close walk to Bourbon Street, but not right in the middle of all the crowds. Will definitely try to stay here next time I'm in town.

We parked our car in the garage upon arrival and didn't move it for the entire stay - New Orleans is a great city for walking. We LOVED the location of the Hotel--short, easy walk to Bourbon St, Trolley right out front, good places to eat close by. We did not need a vehicle for this whole trip. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The Staff were all very nice and efficient. The corner room was beautiful and we loved our interesting views. Staff arranged a great 5am Taxi ride back to the Airport for us--$36.00 total.

The toilet didn't always refill after flushing. All in all a little disappointing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff did a great job. We especially loved the location. We used the streetcars a lot and the St Charles line ran right in front of the hotel. We also went to a few excellent restaurants for breakfast and dinner, which were a ten minute or less walk from the hotel. Also, the hotel is just several blocks away from the French quarter. We preferred being close to the quarter while not staying right in the middle of it. So the location was perfect .

The room was outdated with a shower that was moldy and tile was very soft and felt dangerous. Pipes in the shower were very noisy and rattled the walls. The mini fridge in the room was full of there and amenities and no room for us to even put water in. The store at the hotel self-checkout didn't work so you had to wait in line even to pay just for a water at the front desk.

It was more than I expected upon arrival. Safe and centrally located which made it easy to go to all attractions. Short distances to restaurants and Canal St. The French Quarter was about a 15 minute walk away. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I felt very safe here. Housekeeping Service was disappointing. Upon our arrival, there were several items missing from the mini bar and frig that we were charged for, so I had to address it with front desk. They did remove the charges. Found empty box of cookies under bed. Mattress was very hard and all pillows were way too thick. Balcony was a waste cuz you’re looking into an office directly across. Breakfast buffet was very expensive ($71 for two people). Lobby and restaurants are very nice; staff was friendly. Upon checkout, found I was charged for two more items from mini bar.

The Hotel was only a couple of short blocks to the French Quarter and other areas of interest. The only transportation I used was the Streetcars, otherwise I walked everywhere from the Hotel. It was a very busy hotel with conventions every day. The rooms were not soundproof, so it was noisy at times, depending on your neighbors. Still, with the Travelzoo deal, it made it very attractive. One more thing, I arrived at 6:30 in the morning and the Hotel let me check in early for a nominal fee, so I was very happy.

However, breakfast was very expensive considering it was essentially a buffet with an option to get a fresh omelet. There were no prices, so I should have asked. The breakfast was around $75 with the tip included.

Loved it. The trolley/street car is right across the street. It will take you to most of the main attractions-French Quarter, Bourbon St, Canal St, etc. breakfasts available a very short walk from hotel ( barely a block away) great location- quiet at night,

This hotel rooms were DIRTY ! And when you called the front desk no one answered. I had to go downstairs and ask for towels only to be told she didn’t have any. She had to call for them, they Never came!

The parking was a an issue. You park next door if not valeting for self park. The didn’t tell me to check in first and get a validation to park cheaper. Instead of $25/day it was $50 without the hotel validation. Would like to have known that beforehand

Overall very positive, I knew there would be no regular housekeeping but having to request clean towels for a 4-day stay seems like poor service. At a minimum fresh towels and emptying trash should be provided without requesting them.

I strongly suggest adding a mini fridge to the rooms so guests can chill water and snacks for a day of sightseeing.

Had an overall great experience at Intercontinental New Orleans. The room was clean, quiet and check-in was a smooth process. I'm disappointed in the balcony... it wasn't very appealing and also looked onto another building as opposed to advertised as "overlooking the French quarter". The pool was refreshing but underwhelming compared to the photos. Trenasse, the restaurant downstairs was excellent! I also appreciate that we could keep our bags with them for a while before we had our evening flight.

Check in process was easy, self parking next door, relatively inexpensive compared to other locations. Hotel room was a bit old fashion, but clean. We were let down by no mini fridge provided inside the room.

Beautiful room. Beautiful service. AMAZING location. Could not have asked for better access to the Street Car (trolley lines). In the middle of all the hustle and bustle without the noise and crowds.
