The Tempo is a new hotel. We booked it using a Travelzoo special. It has a good location by the Red Line stop for Farragut North, which is great if you come in from Union Station. The facility and room were very clean. The bathroom was well equipped and well lit. The bed was very comfortable. What you need to know is that the rooms do not come with a closet or dresser. Instead, there is a coat rack by the door where you can put your clothes on a rack at the bottom. We chose to live as much as possible out of our suitcase, which was not very convenient. The hotel should reconsider this arrangement. Putting items by the door is not the safest way to store your clothes or any valuable that does not fit in the room safe. A dresser or cubbies could be added in our room by the TV. Also, for some reason all the chairs and footrest were extra heavy. Maybe they do not want anything to topple over but it also prevents guests who may have challenges from using the furniture. The restaurant options were good.

Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. Staff were friendly, including the cleaning and support staff. I would recommend the hotel, but there were some snafus -- maybe because they are new. There was no literature in the room about internet access, dining, snacks. I think they expected you to use the TV for such information; not sure. We're not TV users. Internet service was very problematic. After several calls we learned it was only free if we because Hilton Honors members, and I felt held hostage just to use the internet. The most egregious snafu was their method of leaving a tip for the staff. It was done by QR code -- ok. But when I called to ask if it should be left daily or at the end, I was told it could all be left at the end. That was completely wrong. There was a different cleaner every day and no way to direct funds to the right person over our four night stay. I felt terrible leaving no tip for the cleaners. When I checked out, the staff were very insensitive to the dilemma and said I could leave a google review!
