"Great find in Solvang! The location is just off of the main street so it’s very quiet but close to everything. It’s a great value in a town that is known to be rather expensive for hotel accommodations."

My only complaint is that the water fluctuates from hot to cold in the shower.

Everything was excellent from check in to check out. The only things that I would say changed it from a five-star to four-star visit was that a dirty towel was left hanging on the shower rod and hair was on the lip of the tub. It gave the impression that the room wasn't cleaned and had us wondering if the sheets and everything else had been changed. The other thing we would have liked an improvement on was the lack of lighting above the round table. We needed to get some work done but it was hard to see because there was no lighting above it.

Great location, wonderful atmosphere, nice people! Loved the free parking and quiet surroundings. It would have been great if someone mentioned that maid service isn't provided unless asked for though.

Cute boutique hotel. Rooms nicely furnished. Bed really comfortable. Stayed two nights and there was no maid service between the 1st and 2nd nights. I don’t recall if that was disclosed as to the way it was going to be, but just unusual not to at least have the maid come in to tidy the room and empty the garbage. Also the garden grounds very cute but full of big weeds, as if no landscaping service for at least a month. So the grounds could use a little more maintenance. I would still stay there again - these are minor observations.

The room was lovely, stylish, and well-appointed. We stayed in the Skal Sanctuary King room and it had a hidden speakeasy room with a big-screen TV and a couch. It was nice to have somewhere to relax and watch TV besides the bed. When we arrived there was a bottle of chardonnay and chocolates in the room which was also a welcome touch. The two staff members that we met were both friendly and welcoming. The property was within walking distance of the local attractions so once we parked we did not move our car all weekend. The hotel was delightful and if I am ever in the area again, I would definitely stay here.

This property has great potential. Unfortunately, due to a simple maintenance issue and limited availability of the on-site staff, the experience suffered. We booked through Travelzoo and we were supposed to receive a welcome amenity of a bottle of wine and some local chocolates. We did get the wine (although we weren't given a choice of the three varieties they had), but the chocolates never materialized (I later negotiated another bottle of wine, after repeatedly inquiring regarding the chocolates). The rooms were spacious and seemed recently updated. Unfortunately the bed was far too firm for a comfortable night's rest. The separation of the front sitting area from the bedroom also made consistent temperature control between the two somewhat difficult. The floors were also in need of a thorough cleaning, based on the dirt we picked up on our socks and soles of our feet. What could have improved our stay would have been the ability to sit by the available fire pits - had there been propane in the tank - or play the various board games/shuffleboard, if they weren't locked up at 6PM when staff went home for the evening. Honestly, it seemed like most times I was looking for someone to answer a question, the office was either closed or had a, 'be right back', sign posted. Ultimately, this place could be a real gem, but clearly needs some serious polishing.

Rooms are newly updated and staff was nice and accommodating. Our group had 6 rooms and all of them were a little different. Some of my friends had issues with the hot water.
