Great Location. I did not realize the Duval Gardens was so not at the same location as rest of the resort. I was charged way more than the travelzoo quote and conformation quote from hotel and when I tried to explain it while checking in, no one could help me confirm how much I was actually going to get charged.

It was a great location but we had to change rooms due to a very musty smell. Our daughter's room had a few cockroaches and they sent an exterminator.

We stayed at the Avalon guest house. Property was nice and the grounds were nice. Several pools and beach access was good. Close to restaurants and things to do. Quiet as well. A place to park our scooter close by and convenient. These are the pros.

Now the cons. The room we booked was extremely small which we knew going into it but the design was horrible. Two people could not be in the bathroom together and the toilet was literally inches from the vanity and sink. You would have to sit sideways on the toilet that is a terrible room for anyone. No place to store your clothing at all. No dresser etc…. That room should not be on travel zoo. Makes me not trust travel zoo. That room was in no way worth what we paid for it. I suggest you re-evaluate that offer on your site.

The hotel was nice. We did not get the room we booked, because Travelzoo never paid the resort and they didn't have room in the Victorian Avalon house. We still have a printed copy of the email confirmation from TravelZoo! So after flying all the way from Omaha, NE and squabbling over a room we sat at the bar for 2 hour until the staff could rummage something up. We reluctantly settled for a downgraded regular hotel room with a breakfast add-on for the same price. Then, to top it off, we paid the hotel directly for the deal! I will request that my Travelzoo membership payment be refunded.

Great Location, Fantastic resort, Amazing Staff the only 2 issues we encountered were
1. uncomfortable and squeaky mattress/bed.
2. Overhead fan/light which would come on in the middle of the night without it having been turned on by ourselves.
3. Very Noisy air conditioning unit.

The hotel was nice and in a good location. However, there was an error with out booking and the booked us in the wrong section of rooms, so they had to find us another room In the correct area and it was almost 4:45 (45 after check in so time) that we finally got our room. They did give us a bottle of wine and a comp drink which was nice.

Great location and great room. The bed and breakfast buildings are scattered about, so make sure to check the location when picking a room.

We loved all the resort amenities. We stayed in Room 702 and were pleasantly surprised to have a nice pool right outside our room. The only drawback to the room was its size. Very small and no where to hang wet clothes, store suitcases, etc. We stayed mostly outside though, so it was tolerable and a great location! Breakfast was awesome as well. We would definately stay here again but get a bigger room. The travelzoo deal was a great price.

Very nice, clean room, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast, included, was a custom omelette with a view of the beach! Front desk was great! Ask for a golf cart ride to your room if it is a bit far. No complaints.
