All staff were helpful and friendly. Check in was easy. The room was comfortable, although only one relaxing chair and one desk chair. This was fine for one night but if we were staying longer I’d have preferred 2 relaxing chairs. The bathroom was lovely with an extra large bath, twin sinks and twin showers. A very well stocked mini bar.

Other Comments

The only coffee in the room was pod coffee for the Smeg machine. There were no instructions on how to work the machine. This did not detract from our stay.

Fabulous hotel, booked for our anniversary and it didn’t disappoint. We had a free upgrade and champagne breakfast was included in the room rate we paid. Room was amazing and staff were welcoming and attentive. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again. Location is really good too, around the corner from Mooregate tube station and the Elizabeth line

We were two couples staying on Saturday 20th June. Out first impression was a good one; friendly service from the restaurant team and we ordered four coffees when we arrived which were perfect! The check in team were friendly enough but we weren’t told what time our check out was, what time breakfast was served, where the lifts were or what floor we were on. As new guests we would have liked this information to have been given to us upon our arrival. Our room was incredible! The bed was so comfy and the bedlinen, towels and TV far exceeded our expectations- the bath was enormous and all fixtures and fittings were amazing quality. I was dismayed to find therefore that the toilet paper was cheap quality and the bath products were in anti-theft holders on the wall- most frustrating and with a £125 deposit taken on our credit card to cover the mini bar costs- it didn’t leave me feeling like I was staying somewhere that luxurious after all. If guests take the shampoo/conditioner/shower gel- charge them! Our complimentary cocktails were ok, but my friend can’t drink alcohol due to having cancer and asked for a mocktail- the bartender told her he would have to charge as it wasn’t part of ‘the deal’. We queried this and said it seemed daft as there wasn’t going to be any alcohol in it so would be far cheaper for the hotel. The bartender did relent and my friend enjoyed a delicious alcohol free Bloody Mary which was served complimentary, which was very kind of him. The breakfast next morning was delicious and the champagne really was a lovely treat!

Other Comments

We all had an amazing time but our visit could have been made even better if there was an alcohol free wine/prosecco option on the drinks menu. Not everyone can drink alcohol and it really would have been lovely if my friend could have enjoyed some fizz with her breakfast. Also extra teabags are charged for- four teabags cost an additional £12 along with a service charge for putting them on a saucer for us to take to our room! I would have really appreciated more transparency about what was included in the Travelzoo deal that we had; this was apparent at breakfast too when we were handed a menu but didn’t know what we were allowed to have. All that being said- we had a fabulous time and wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend South Place Hotel
