This resort has new owners - awaiting a major overhaul. Not sure any other guests there. Never met another person in the elevators in 2 days. Staff mixed: some excellent, others out-to-lunch. Fun features like "dining igloos" and ice-skating rink. Up-graded to tower room - adequate but bathrooms definitely need upgrading. Excellent location - 1/2 mile walk to heart of Newport.
Other Comments
Lunch in igloo. Food quite good and reasonably priced compared to spa charges, for instance.
No magnifying mirror in bathroom.

Very few people there. Some services not open. Free Champagne but 35.00 corking fee. Fixed problem with door lock. No hand rails in shower. Food ok but too expensive.

The room need work in bath. Shower door jammed, flusher on toilet needed to be held down to work. Tub backed up with water in shower. The bartender was rude and added 30 dollars of drinks onto my bill that were not mine. The only staff that was polite was the front desk who helped correct the bill that the bar over charged me.The bartender did it deliberately

There were LOTS of kids running around due to a basketball tournament in town, they were noisy and bumping into us as we walked through the hotel, etc. Other than that it was great and we plan to go back!
