It’s a beautiful property and the area is being built up. Some homelessness in the area and homeless facilities but it was still a great hotel

We chose this hotel because the convenient location. We had stopped at the rooftop bar a few years ago and was delighted to see the special on TravelZoo, it was a nice saving from the HH rates. The staff was helpful and friendly. Mumford's, the rooftop bar is a great place to take in the surrounding scenery and the food is good.
Other Comments
I thought it interesting that after I booked with TravelZoo the rate went down $10 in a new offer.. Unfortunately it was already within the cancellation period of my visit so I could not take advantage of it.
Thank you.

Nice Hotel, good location. I like Hampton inns better. You get breakfast included but not in Doubletree. No cookies at checkin. They charge more and you get less.

Customer service not great. Pool not working. Gym equipment out of order. Had two shampoos dispensers in shower and no body gel. Asked and they came back with another bottle of conditioner. Language was a problem. One day no coffee available in lobby and Lysol wipes by elevator was empty. A lot of employees just standing around. When you asked a question about when pool will be open no one could answer the question.

Fantastic hotel. The only thing I would suggest is to have 2 choices of pillows. Down and foam. Love the warm chocolate chip cookies. Breakfast was perfect buffet. Love all the drink choices in rooftop bar.

Very nice hotel all around.

Only drawback is our room was on the 7th floor that was likely under the 8th floor restaurant. So the two nights we were there we were subjected to chairs/tables being dragged across the floor for a couple hours. Maybe some noise deadening material in the floor/ceiling.

I'd give it a year or two, then maybe give it a shot again. Beautiful hotel, but construction all around it. Eventually, it will likely be safely walkable, but for now, to get downtown, there are sidewalks closed, causing you to cross in front of highway off ramps. It is immediately adjacent to the highway, and they did not spring for soundproof glass. They do offer ear plugs and a sound machine, but I don't know if you'd really want that for a nice little getaway. But, they were offering a deal at about 60% of other comparable downtown hotels, so, at that rate it was worth it.

First visit to Asheville. Hotel was nice, room very nice, shower a little low pressure.
View, though, was of the hotel underconstruction across the street, which we weren't warned about. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and had no real complaints. Staff super nice and professional.

WE thought we had mistakenly booked a hotel too far from the entertainment district but it turned out everything was in easy walking distance. Location was great.

room was excellent but right next to I485 so it was very noisy. sink was broken. Desk never checked my preferences in hilton honors so had to go back down to desk to get different room. would not let me use my diamond credits, $15 each per day, because I had booked through a third party. Will never do that again.

Location was good in that we could walk to restaurants. It was close to a highway to make car travel easy. The downfall is that there was major construction right across the street from our room. We had to keep the blinds closed while we were there to decrease noise. Self parking was easy. Valet parking was not necessary. The food and drink options at the hotel were very expensive.
Other Comments
We asked for a room with a "city view" based on other comments. The "mountain view" faces the highway and noise was mentioned as a problem. The "city view" did not have noise issues.

Major complaint: TV sucks…. No ESPN or Turner broadcasting stations. Not acceptable her this level of hotel. Also, it is a little further from the heart of downtown then we would prefer. Other than that, everything was fine.

Other Comments
The staff were not friendly. The bathroom was very nice and the room felt spacious and clean however, it was located right across from a construction zone. It was so loud that he hotel had to provide earplugs - why rent out these rooms if the noise is so loud. Also I find paying for self parking $16/day simply ridiculous. I am doing all of the work to park my car and the hotel is not even located in a just area where parking can be seen as a luxury. They had plenty of space to allow for cars to park without charging for it.
