Prince Edward Island's provincial parks reward outdoorsy types in spades with their broad offerings of adventurous activities and family fun. The Rodd Brudenell River Resort borders the namesake provincial park, which is one of the largest on the island's east side. It cozies around the shores of the Brudenell River, which guests can explore by kayak or canoe, or from the decks of a boat moored at the on-site marina.

Golfers will find plenty of greens to swat around on as there are two 18-hole golf courses neighbouring the resort, each offering emerald fairways that unfurl among ponds and gardens. The resort also offers horseback riding, lawn bowling and tennis (based on seasonality). If the river is too bracing, dip in the heated indoor and outdoor pools, then unwind with a massage or body wrap that incorporates Aveda products. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, and many have a private balcony with views of the pool or the river. Kids 10 and under eat free from May-October.

Great round of golf.

Staff were great to change room away from indoor pool. Could be more informative. Great if bar was open in hotel or dining room. Building lacks services and vibe. Very dead in main building. Carpets in rooms need to be replaced. When I turned over the gripping tub math it had mould from lack of cleaning. Not hard to clean with a bit of effort. Refrigerator in room was great.

Well kept property with pools, trails, golf and great staff.

Their main restaurants are closed which was inconvenient. Luckily, Georgetown is only a short drive.

It was central for our golf games and to tour the island.

Indoor pool and hot tub were great!

My only complaint is that the restaurant is not inside the hotel. It's a short walk (less than a minute) but not ideal in inclement weather.

It's in a quiet area and provides easy access to beaches and services in surrounding small villages / towns.

We prefer the central part of the island so may not return here but it was an enjoyable stay. We're not golfers but those who are would no doubt enjoy the 2 courses right at the resort.

The location and grounds are easily the best feature. It wasn't real busy so all the kids in our group had a good time at the pools, and we could easily sit around in the evenings and socialize on the patios. Pool lady is great. All staff were friendly.

Booking through TravelZoo wasn't the way to go. The hotel charged us more than our online confirmation and had to call the Rodd to reverse charges. My sister who was travelling in the same party as us said the same thing happened to her when she arrived. The travelzoo price/special didn't seem to transfer over to the hotel website?????? There were 8 local teens who arrived at the pool 5 minutes after the pool lady left for the day, and did cannonballs and flips into the pool for several hours while families were trying to swim with their kids. They need to have a security person around to ensure that only guests are using their pools. They had parked in the parking lot and walked over and took over both the outdoor and indoor pools.
