Overview

Along the winding Delaware Water Gap that separates New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort has been hosting guests for over a century. The historic golf course was completed in 1911 and designed by renowned designer A.W. Tillinghast. Played by golf legends such as Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead, the course is situated on an island in the middle of the Delaware River.

During the winter months, skiers descend on the resort in search of powder across 125 skiable acres at nearby Shawnee Mountain. The mountain is equipped with snowmaking, a snow tubing park, equipment rentals and 23 slopes and trails. During the warmer months, kayaks, rafts and canoes are available for rent to absorb the scenery that the Delaware Water Gap has to offer. Hikers can pick up a printed guide from the hotel providing details about the abundance of trails in the area.

There’s also no shortage of activities and indulgences found indoors. Spa Shawnee and Salon is over 3,000 square feet and features massage rooms, a hydrotherapy room, full salon and manicure and pedicure stations. Beer is brewed on site at the ShawneeCraft Brewing Company for those looking to enjoy a cold beverage after a day on the slopes or the links. In the fall and winter season, the Gem and Keystone Brewpub is open midweek for lunch and dinner; the River Room Gastropub is open on weekends and holidays for lunch and dinner and daily for breakfast.

"The property is beautiful. Right along the river. Even with it being cold we could still enjoy the scenery. The place has such great old fashion charm. We loved it. Lots to go and do in the area. "

The setting for the Inn is so serene and welcoming. The rooms are older, but I still felt surrounded by luxury.

Updaring the bathroom (or just the shower head) a better experience.

The staff for the most part were nice. I also liked they that there was a brewery onsite.
Other Comments
The rooms were really a disappointment. They were antiquated, the carpet was old, dirty and tattered. Thank god I brought my flip flops because there is no way I would have ever walked on that floor without shoes on. The tiles were broken on the floor as well in front of the kitchenette. all the furniture was scuffed and old and the bathroom was kind of gross. Maybe their onsite restaurant was having an off day for breakfast but that buffet was not worth the money and the food was not good. This hotel costs too much money for the value.
