Considered one of the best whitewater rivers in the country, the Gauley is divided into two sections. The upper Gauley is full of turbulence and steep cliffs that will challenge the pros. The lower Gauley is described as a "watery roller coaster" by the National Parks Service and the minimum age to paddle it is 12 years old.
