The spotlight is often on New York’s entertainment scene, but there’s much to talk about happening nearby in Boston.
From April to September, the biggest name in Boston entertainment is Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox, but year round Boston offers world-class shows and events across the city. Many touring Broadway shows make a stop here, but the theater scene is vibrant with productions at the Wang, Shubert and Colonial theatres. And before retreating to Tanglewood in the summer, the Boston Symphony Orchestra performs from the fall through April at the gorgeous Symphony Hall, a venue worth a visit in its own right. And each summer the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company stages a major -- and free -- production on the Boston Common.
