Portland Attractions
Portland is Oregon’s largest city, and also one of the most environmentally conscious cities in the world. This is because of its high scores for walkability, biking and public transportation, and the fact that it’s home to numerous farm-to-table restaurants and more than 10,000 acres of public parks – including Mount Hood and Multnomah Falls. Speaking of the food scene, the city is home to the unique clusters of food carts downtown, along with national favorites Stumptown Coffee and Voodoo Doughnut. Fun fact -- Portland is known as “the City of Roses” because the climate – warm, dry summers and chilly, rainy, winters – are ideal for growing roses. The unofficial slogan for the city that residents had adopted is “Keep Portland Weird,” and meant to encourage and promote local businesses.
