While its “Charm City” nickname dates back to the 70s, there’s plenty to still find charming in Baltimore today. Centering a stay around the Inner Harbor puts you close to many top attractions like the National Aquarium, while other inland neighborhoods like Mount Vernon are packed with museums that show off a “cultural center” moniker. Travelzoo has hotel, restaurant and activity deals throughout the city and around the Chesapeake Bay.
Summer brings heavy crowds so plan early to save -- both dollars with hotel prices and time with oft-lengthy waits for tours and museum entrances if you don’t pre-book. If you’ve got a parka packed for winter, however, December-February is when the room rates drop along with the temperatures, and there’s rarely a wait for sites.
