When Harry and Meghan Meet Jasper
As royal honeymoon rumours swirl, we're taking a closer look at the could-be digs for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Unconfirmed reports cite Alberta, specifically Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and the Outlook Cabin, as the staging ground for their post-wedding getaway.
The 700 acre mountain resort sits within Jasper National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The property wraps around the shores of Lac Beauvert and rated by SCOREGolf Magazine as Canada’s #1 Golf Resort for twenty consecutive years.
The lavish mountain retreat is no stranger to the Royals. King George VI and the Queen Mother stayed here back in 1939, while Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip celebrated Alberta’s centennial at the property, prompting the hotel to call the cabin the “Royal Retreat.”
According to Fairmont, the lavish 6,000-square-foot cabin features six bedrooms (all with en suite bathrooms), an enclosed conservatory and veranda, two fireplaces, a large terrace with barbeque and a full kitchen with private catering entrance. All yours for approximately $3450 per night based on off-season pricing.
If that's too regal or rich for your blood, one of these more modest Fairmont rooms (starting from $349 per night) could be just the ticket.
