All-inclusive river cruising with a European touch

The growth in popularity of both all-inclusive vacations and cruise vacations marks a notable travel trend in the last few years. The appeal of having so many things packaged—for one price—is undeniable. With that in mind, let us introduce you to a cruise experience that takes all-inclusive to the next level. From the moment you step on board a VIVA cruise and are presented with a glass of cava, everything is taken care of: dining, drinks, curated excursions, Wi-Fi and even a high tea experience.
With roots in Germany and Switzerland, VIVA’s team members are not just experts in Europe river cruising—they’re locals. And as such, guests get the full European treatment on board, with fresh-baked pastries, high quality wine and other little delights available throughout the day.

When you step foot on solid land, your guide won't just take you to see the popular highlights of the city. You’ll be taken to spots local foodies rave about. You’ll go off the beaten path—literally—on hikes to quietly beautiful landscapes. VIVA takes guests on an authentic, restful European journey both on- and off-ship. Here's a taste of what's in store for those who cruise with VIVA.
Foodie paradise
As you step aboard your European river cruise, you're greeted with a glass of chilled cava—a sparkling welcome drink with origins in Spain. Its crisp, elegant taste pairs perfectly with views of the passing scenery such as the storybook villages of the Danube River. Enjoy the bubbly beginning of your trip and toast to the adventure ahead.

Imagine waking up to a sun-drenched cabin and leisurely making your way to a fully loaded breakfast buffet. On VIVA cruises, meal times are flexible, so you never have to rush or set a reminder. And with three restaurants to choose from and multi-course menus, there’s always a gourmet, homemade dish you have yet to taste.

In a nod to the European tradition of refined leisure, high tea is offered once per cruise to all guests. This special afternoon escape features a refined selection of sweet and savory delicacies: warm scones, delicate sandwiches, cupcakes, rich chocolates and colorful macarons, all paired with exclusive teas from around the world. It's a chance to slow down, enjoy the moment and let yourself drift in luxury, one horizon at a time.
Enjoyable excursions
Tour each port like a local on expertly curated excursions for each type of traveler. Foodies can enjoy activities like chocolate tasting in Antwerpen, where they’ll learn the origins of Belgium’s own praline, a treat first invented in 1912. They’ll wander cobblestone streets while catching the rich scent of cacao on their way to the next chocolatier.

History and culture are around every river bend, and VIVA’s excursions reflect that. History-lovers might embark on a journey through iconic treasures like Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage site in The Netherlands. They’ll explore 18th century windmills and learn about the history and technology behind them as they enjoy sights of the surrounding waterways and meadows.

Nature lovers can gain a deeper appreciation for the picturesque landscapes they pass onboard. Excursions like the Lavender Museum in Viviers put them face to face with some of the most beautiful sights in the south of France. Guests learn about the processing of lavender and capture photos on a walking tour of the surroundings.
Cabins with a view
Holding between 80-190 passengers, VIVA’s fleet journeys through Germany, France, Netherlands and Portugal. They’re equipped with two decks of French balcony cabins, providing a front-row seat to some of the most romantic landscapes in the world. Open your doors to the river and feel the fresh air on your face as you read a book, sip a hot drink or simply take in the views.

Even if you don’t opt for a French balcony cabin, you’ll have a direct view of the sights. All cabins are outside cabins and feature wide picture windows. You’ll enjoy unobstructed views of hills lined with colorful buildings and lush vineyards. Cabins feature comfort-focused elements, including RITUALS beauty products and a fully stocked mini bar.
Stay tuned next year for a new addition to the VIVA fleet with VIVA Beyond, the first ship in the VIVA Boutique line. The 58-cabin ship will sail along the Seine River, featuring suites and master suites in half of the cabins. From Paris to Rouen, guests will be transported to the quiet luxury of France, with all of the European flair they’ve come to expect aboard a VIVA cruise.
