Fabulous location, lovely dining room, quiet and peaceful, lovely large property

no place to put luggage except on the floor.I asked for luggage rack, but did not get one. Screen that did not fit and let the bugs fly in. One chair in room, no table

the restaurant was well appointed, and staff were friendly

we were unable to upgrade our room as it was in the annex and right near the top of the property, too far for two seniors with hip problems to walk to the beach. Room smelt mouldy and had a lack of amenities. no luggage rack so had to keep our suitcase on the floor, there were two queen beds, but only one chair, the room needed a small table and chairs, there was room for it, the bathroom was situated in the front of the property, so had to keep the blind closed for people walking by. the restaurant on the property was just renovated and was top notch, but seemed it catered more for parties and people dropping by, rather than the residents of the resort. the most disappointing thing was the smell in the room and we could not upgrade there were no benches or chairs on the beach or on the property so we had to drive to the restaurant and the beach.

The restaurant was remodelled and lovely. We were told we didn’t need a reservation however when we went for dinner we were seated in the bar area for dinner and service was very slow but food was very good.
Other Comments
Room was tired..rusty lamps, old window coverings, one chair no table.Lots of tiny flies in bathroom in the morning. Grounds outside our unit 122 needed upkeep. Registration office had moved to restaurant with no signage so difficult to find when we arrived. No info available at registration about wineries or attractions in area.

Travelzoo had a good promotion for a mid-week off season stay in PEC. However, those opting for the Travelzoo package are tucked away in the Annex. While the rest of the resort is on the waterfront, the Annex is next to the road and is in need of some attention. The grounds are a bit neglected, the screens in the windows do not fit tightly and would be inefficient to keep the bugs out, the ceiling light in our room did not work, a bit of mildew in shower, etc. On the plus side, the establishment is very close to the provincial park, a nice bicycle ride away. But this also means that you are away from conveniences. Something to keep in mind as the restaurant was not open for breakfast. Make sure to bring what you need for a continental breakfast and you can make use of the small fridge, microwave oven and coffee machine in the room.
Other Comments
Special mention for the welcoming person at the reception when we arrived. She was kind enough to look for another room when we voiced a bit of disappointment with the « motel » room but she realized that this was a Travelzoo package that could not be changed, even when we offered to pay for an upgrade.

There were other room options in lovely buildings near the lake but we were told that because we booked through travel zoo this was our only option.
Other Comments
The picture displayed on travel zoo site did not represent the area we were . We were in a very old building up near the road and we could not see the lake. The restaurant was not open and we had to drive 30-45 minutes to get breakfast and dinner. Parking at our site was mud and gravel. Patio outside our room was so unkempt we didn’t even step outside.

It was midweek so the resort was almost empty. The restaurant was not open for the first evening and not at all for breakfast. Many of the facilities looked like they needed work to be done to restore what was previously very good. The pool was closed. The basketball court looked it hadn't been used for some time, the baseball field not for a very long time. The restaurant, however, had just reopened after being completely renovated and was excellent.
