Overview

One of the most well-known wonders in the Western Hemisphere, Niagara Falls is a scene of beauty. This hotel stands just 92 metres from the brink of the rushing waters. After checking in, spread out in 52 square metres or more of space, with the option to reserve a room with a view of the Falls. Even the smallest suites here comfortably sleep up to four guests, and many sleep six.

Spend time unwinding at the indoor pool and whirlpool, then take the kids to the video arcade. For more educational fun, the Butterfly Conservatory is 10 minutes from the hotel by car. This site, home to more than 2,000 exotic species, is ranked as one of the top five Niagara Falls attractions on TripAdvisor.

Rise and shine with a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast, and set aside time to attend the complimentary evening reception that includes alcoholic drinks (limited number per guest) and snacks. In the evening, head to The Keg Steakhouse and Bar for unparalleled views and entrees like grilled top sirloin and prime rib. Starters, soups and specialty cocktails are also served, as well as lunch items earlier in the day. Be sure to check the fireworks and illumination schedules to get a window seat during these events.

On-site parking is available for $60 per night; handicap parking is $35 per night (parking fees/rates are subject to change).

The coupons/bonus items were great for meals. I wish wine tour and casino credits could be exchanged for other items for those non-drinkers/ non gambling people like us. But that is a picayune issue.

The nightly reception was not like any other that we have attended. The add said online 2 drinks per adult and we got one. There was also way too many people for the size of the area.

Our room was pleasant with a terrific view of the falls.

Beware: at checkin, they tried to give us a room with two queen beds with a city view when our reservation clearly said a king bed suite with a view of the falls. When I showed her the reservation in black and white, she did give us the right room. Also note, the free reception with two free drinks and snacks in the evening requires standing in a rather long line to get well liquor and a mixer in a small plastic cup, and the snacks are just potato chips and pretzels. Likewise, if you don't go to the free "cooked to order breakfast" [only omelettes are cooked to order and that requires standing in a second long line], before 8am, the breakfast will require a long wait; we went at 8:30, and 30 minutes to get into the buffet. Most of the hot food (scrambled eggs, oatmeal, sausage) was completely cold. The coffee and fresh fruit was nice enough, and the staff tried hard, but it was kind of a circus with children running everywhere. By 9:30 i'm guessing the wait was 45 minutes.
