I took my daughter for her 11th birthday because she always wanted to visit a castle. The staff brought up a complimentary piece of birthday cake and a Stewart plushie. She even got to meet Stewart the dog in person. The staff on the Gold Floor was so kind and attentive. The breakfast and appetizers were very good and my daughter felt like a princess when they brought her a hot chocolate with flecks of gold leaf on top. I wouldn’t recommend bringing children who are high energy to the Gold Floor as they expect it to remain quiet and tranquil. For this reason, my husband stayed home with our son.

It is such a beautiful building. I could have spent an entire day just walking around and looking at the moulding, paintings and architectural details.

It was great. It was our 30th Anniversary, we were upgraded to a suite and a bottle of bubbly.

Hotel is in the best location; we were able to walk to most of the places we visited. The hotel is historic and very beautiful. The only downside is the parking situation. The offer valet only and it is $68 per day which adds up if you’re there more than a couple of nights. We would definitely stay at the Chateau Laurier again if we get back to Ottawa.

Also… not a fan of the pillows so bring your own if you’re picky! Lots of places to eat within walking distance and head to Piccolo Grande for delicious gelato!

From the moment when we arrive the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was busy due to a hockey game.

I have stayed at many Fairmont properties, and the Gold Room at this location was not as impressive as the other ones I have stayed in across Canada. However, the amenities and food provided in the lounge were great. The staff was also fantastic and very helpful.

Hotel was superb as well as the hotel staff …canapés before dinner were lovely ..really enjoyed .
I’d recommend the gold floor to anyone that books a room .
We would love to come again .

We were disappointed that the charging stations ( 2) were not working for an electric vehicle …the staff did their best to accommodate.

The hotel was fantastic, unfortunately Travelzoo dropped the ball. I booked the Fairmont Gold King package and arrived to check in and was booked by travelzoo into a standard suite. The hotel was lovely and I was able to provide my booking info from travelzoo and they put me in the correct room, but they shouldn’t have had to do this and was disappointing to say the least. I have never had an issue booking with travelzoo before but this kind of thing used to happen with booking.com Andi’s why I no longer use them.

We spent extra to be on the Gold floor which is an upgrade. Great rooms, service and complementary canapés, desserts and breakfast. Great location in an historic setting.

The only comment I would make is improving on their pillows, way too soft! My husband and I have neck issues so that was a problem for us.
