Was a really great hotel! Kids enjoyed the pool and Waterslide. Breakfast was awesome! Views were great. Our room was a little cold as the heater wasn’t quite working properly but the fireplace made up for it :) also wifi connection was a little slow as well.

Have stayed at the Pocaterra a number of times. Always pleased overall. Staff friendly. Rooms clean. A bit disappointed this time when our service dog was not allowed to be in the pool area which is against the Service Dogs Act in Alberta which could make the Inn subject to a serious fine. We encourage the management to review the law on this matter.

We sincerely appreciate having a complimentary breakfast provided but PLEASE do something about the hash browns. With every time we have stayed at the Inn the hash browns are dry and hard .....we repeatedly see guests throwing them in the garbage bin.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past. We really enjoy the hotel and its amenities. The staff are always polite and help full. I couldn't help but notice that the room we were in needed a lot of updating. There was a 'crack" in the wall that probably shouldn't be there. The washroom sink was full of cracks. I think it should be replaced. The toilet had a large chip it the porcelain along with missing a piece of hardware that made it look old and in need of replacing. There was an electrical out let that was not at all secured to the wall as it should have been. It is only a matter of time before a child will electrocute them self on that. The window that is in the suite did not close completely. The closing hard ware appeared to be completely broken and as a result we were hearing all the outside noises from the parking lot and the train that went by the hotel every hour or so. There was "spillage" on the floor by the microwave that we noticed. A bit sticky. I did mention the problems to the front desk at check out and the said they would have there maintenance staff look at all of the issues. I had not experienced these sort of issues in previous stays and hopefully for the hotel this is limited to the 1 room we stay in. Despite these issues I would stay at the hotel again at lease to give it a fare opportunity to correct maintenance issues that I'm sure they try to correct when made aware of, when in Canmore.

The room was very noisy overnight, the heater banged every time it went off an on and it went off an on many times throughout the night. It was not a very pleasant or peaceful sleep. The breakfast was terrible, the pre-made waffles were like cardboard, the mini muffins were chalky and not edible. The bagel was too hard to even cut with a knife and the toaster did not brown the bread.

Big room, clean, good breakfast, Motel was quite busy with lots of families so pool and hot tub was full of kids probably due to stat holiday and reportedly a school break.
Canmore itself was very busy now with expensive paid parking with the closest machine that didn’t work with credit card if you don’t like QR & don’t have a data plan with your cell phone.

We enjoyed our time at Pocaterra. Received a bottle of wine and enjoyed a meal at Iron Goat with coupon provided. Room was a little tight as my spouse was using a walker but we did not make it known to hotel beforehand so my fault. Enjoyed the fireplace in the room. My spouse enjoyed the hot tub and pool and even went down water slide once. Good exercise for him as he requires a hip replacement so swimming is easier for him to do than walking.

Everything was awesome from check in to check out. The staff were fabulous and so helpful with storing our bikes. The kids had a blast on the waterslide and hot tub and everything was clean. All the staff was so polite and helpful at breakfast and throughout the facility. The beds were comfortable and the water with hot for showers. Loved the Rocky Mountain soap company toiletries as they were a special treat. It was also close to restaurants and bike trails to make it very convenient.

On the outside the hotel is quite nice, on the inside, parts of it are nice. The lobby and entrance area were very clean from what we saw, our room was a different story. I am quite sensitive to dust and was stuffed up after only a short time in the room. Behind the night stand, top of the light on the night stand, top of the headboard, corners in the bathroom, all quite dirty. It is obvious that the cleaners go through the traffic areas and no one has actually done a deeper clean in quite some time. The rooms are very dated, chairs had the vinyl peeling, lots of nicks in the furniture and the beds sound like they are on old steel frames. The fitness room has very minimal equipment, no free weights, cable machines, etc, just basic treadmill, eliptical, and bike and a couple of mats. The pool area was clean, pool is on the small side but, the waterslide was fun. The hot tub was good, appeared clean enough, alot of clorine though and the button to turn on the jets is a long ways away from the tub and the sign is so small we had no idea that is what it was for. It's always nice when breakfast is included but, timing is everything. My husband had cereal and fruit, not horrible, I opted to try the hot food but, it was not good. Eggs and waffles were cold, sausages were overcooked and very dry. I don't think they had the burners lit below to keep the food warm and it was definitely sitting there for a while. I saw many other people throw out their food which is a real shame.

We paid $20/night extra to have a balcony room which, when we arrived noticed that the outdoor furniture had been removed. We asked about that and were told that it was put away for the season. I do understand that our stay was in the middle of October and typically not ideal balcony weather but, we do like to be out with a hot drink. I do not think you should pay extra for a balcony if they remove the outdoor furniture and do not expect you to use it. I asked if we could change to a regular room to save the extra fee but, they said they could not because we booked through a third party. If I book a balcony reoom anywhere again I will know to ask about the outdoor furniture.

It was such an excellent place. The Rocky Mountain soaps were wonderful. Everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were super helpful and friendly, offering to store our bikes down in the storeroom. Lots of choices at the breakfast buffet. The only thing we missed was a pen in our room.The Travelzoo price was already amazing and then the bottle of wine and two for one dining at the Iron Goat was an added bonus. To get the best view at the Iron Goat make a reservation (huge dining room windows offer an amazing experience.)

The hot tub was a little too hot for much indoor lounging. The chlorine is so strong it actually burned in the eyes.
