Christmas takes on a new look with India, Sri Lanka and tropical Southeast Asia on the itinerary.

Why We Love This Deal

You’ve cruised from Dubai. You’ve sailed from Singapore. This time, start in Mumbai. The city deserves more than an embarkation day. You get two nights in a hotel and a third onboard Regatta in Mumbai. This gives you plenty of time to explore its waterfront, Art Deco boulevards and enjoy a food scene worth travelling for. The next day, sail all-inclusive from India’s new and largest cruise terminal. From there, follow the coast south as India changes around you. Goa brings beaches and December sunshine. In Sri Lanka, Hambantota opens the door to Yala’s elephants and leopards. Skip the chores, not the Christmas cheer. Oceania brings festive dining, live music, decorations and Champagne, while you wake somewhere entirely different. Two sea days slow the pace before Southeast Asia takes over. Penang brings one of Asia’s great food cultures before Singapore closes the journey. This 16-night holiday includes flights and the Mumbai stay, making Christmas away surprisingly easy to pull off. December is well timed across much of the journey, with drier, more comfortable conditions. Regatta carries fewer than 700 guests, keeping the experience intimate between bigger days ashore. It is a more adventurous way to spend Christmas, without making the holiday itself hard work.

Our research found a comparable festive Oceania cruise holiday would cost up to $12,166 per person to self-package. At $5990, this deal saves up to $6176 per person, or 51%. Travelzoo members also receive an exclusive free upgrade from an Inside to an Oceanview Stateroom.

Itinerary highlights

Mumbai begins the journey with a two-night hotel stay, allowing time to discover the Gateway of India, Taj Mahal Palace and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. After boarding Regatta, an overnight stay in port offers even more time to explore.

Golden beaches and Portuguese heritage await in Mormugao, gateway to Goa. Spend the day exploring historic forts and museums, visiting a spice farm or relaxing by the Arabian Sea.

Venturing beyond India’s usual tourist trail, Mangalore combines quiet beaches, sacred temples and distinctive South Indian flavours. Sample local favourites including Mangalore buns and freshly fried fish.

Centuries of global influences converge in Cochin, the historic ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’. Wander through Fort Kochi, see the Chinese fishing nets, visit Mattancherry Palace or experience a traditional Kathakali performance.

Colonial architecture sits alongside contemporary Sri Lankan life in Colombo. Explore the historic Fort district, browse traditional markets or discover the capital’s restaurants, museums and galleries.

Wildlife takes centre stage in Hambantota, gateway to the landscapes of southern Sri Lanka. Explore Mirijawila Botanic Gardens or venture into Yala National Park in search of elephants and leopards.

Tropical scenery welcomes you to Phuket, where sandy beaches and beautiful coastline meet the lively streets of the island’s capital. Historic architecture now sits alongside shops, restaurants and cafés.

Crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches set the scene in Langkawi. Venture inland to discover caves and waterfalls, sample local cuisine or explore the island’s rich marine life.

Heritage-listed George Town is a highlight of Penang, where one of Southeast Asia’s largest collections of pre-war buildings reflects the island’s multicultural past.

From Port Klang, head into Kuala Lumpur for soaring skyscrapers, colourful temples and vibrant street food. Highlights include the Petronas Towers, Batu Caves and Thean Hou Temple.

The 14-night voyage concludes in Singapore, where you’ll disembark Regatta with the option to extend your stay and explore the city further.
