$5499—16-day Japan, China & Korea fly-cruise-tour w/Mt Fuji
Shanghai’s glittering skyline, volcanic Jeju and Japan’s best ports all on one unforgettable voyage
Why We Love This Deal
Japan looks different from a bullet train, a mountain ropeway and a boat crossing Lake Ashi. This 16-day fly-cruise-tour holiday lets you experience all three. You'll also have two chances to see Mount Fuji: from the sea near Shimizu and the mountains around Hakone. By mid-May, Japan is lush and green, with the Golden Week holiday rush behind you. The journey also takes in three East Asian countries with centuries of intertwined histories. Begin with three nights in five-star Shanghai accommodation. Along the Huangpu River, historic architecture faces a futuristic skyline glittering after dark. Board Royal Caribbean's Spectrum of the Seas for an eight-night cruise, starting with South Korea's Jeju Island. Here, black lava-stone walls line villages and green tea fields cover volcanic hillsides. Japan then unfolds port by port. Fukuoka's trading heritage reflects centuries of connections with China and Korea. Kobe brings international influences and the chance to savour its world-famous beef. The cruise ends in Yokohama, but Japan is only getting started. Explore Tokyo's ancient temples and modern landmarks before riding the Shinkansen to Odawara. Discover Hakone's mountain scenery, cruise Lake Ashi and visit Mount Fuji's Fifth Station. Kamakura provides a quieter finish among Hase-dera's historic gardens. You'll meet Japan from the water, then get to know it on land.
CruiseAway's package starts at $5499 per person. Self-packaging would cost up to $6748, according to our research. That's a saving of up to $1249 per person.

Itinerary highlights
The journey begins in Shanghai with three nights in a 5-star hotel. Stroll the Bund, admire the futuristic Pudong skyline across the Huangpu River and explore the old city’s gardens and lanes.
Jeju is South Korea’s volcanic island, known for its lava-stone villages and rugged coastline. Climb Seongsan Ilchulbong, a crater rising straight from the sea, or watch Jeju’s famous haenyeo women divers at work.
Fukuoka offers a first taste of Japan: a relaxed harbour city famous for its food. Visit Kushida Shrine, stroll around Ohori Park, then pull up a stool at the riverside yatai food stalls.
Kobe pairs a scenic waterfront with a cosmopolitan feel shaped by its history as an international port. Explore the Kitano district’s historic foreign residences, or venture to nearby Osaka or Kyoto.
Shimizu brings your first view of Mount Fuji, rising above the coast. Walk the pine-lined shores of Miho no Matsubara, one of the most celebrated viewpoints for Japan’s sacred mountain.
Yokohama marks the end of your cruise and the start of your land journey. Wander the Minato Mirai waterfront or explore Japan’s largest Chinatown before heading into Tokyo.
Tokyo opens your guided tour in Japan’s dazzling capital. Visit Senso-ji Temple, browse Nakamise Shopping Street, take in the views from Tokyo Skytree, then explore Ueno Park and stylish Ginza.
Take the Shinkansen to Odawara, where the city gives way to mountain scenery. Explore Odawara Castle, a striking hilltop fortress with views across the coast.
Hakone offers a peaceful contrast to Tokyo’s energy. Cross Lake Ashi through Hakone National Park, with Mount Komagatake rising nearby and views towards Mount Fuji.
Mount Fuji takes centre stage as you head up to its 5th Station. Stand high on the slopes of Japan’s most famous peak, days after first seeing it from your ship’s deck.
Kamakura was once the seat of Japan’s medieval government and is rich in temples and shrines. Visit Hase-dera, known for its beautiful gardens and its towering wooden Kannon statue.
