$10,999—Rio, Iguazu, Antarctica & Patagonia fly-cruise-stay
South America’s cities, Iguazu Falls and the Antarctic Peninsula in one continuous journey
Why We Love This Deal
This is one of Imagine Cruising’s more popular South America and Antarctica packages, and it’s easy to see why. South America rarely comes together like this, in one continuous journey. This 25-night itinerary moves from South America’s icons to the remote stillness of Antarctica. Begin in Rio, where you’ll stand beneath Christ the Redeemer and look out across the city and rainforest. Then continue to Iguazu Falls for guided walks on both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides. The voyage continues with a 17-night cruise on Majestic Princess departing from Buenos Aires. You’ll sail beyond coastlines into Patagonia with Punta Arenas and Ushuaia marking the last major ports before Antarctica. This is where the experience changes. Ice replaces coastline, with glaciers rising directly from the water and wildlife all around you. January is one of the best times to visit Antarctica, with long daylight hours and active wildlife. This itinerary makes the most of it with four days in Antarctic waters. This gives you time to take it in rather than just pass through. Flights, hotels, tours and transfers are included, so all that's left is to book, pack and go.
Starting at $10,999 per person, we found saving of up to $3020 per person compared with packaging this trip yourself. This includes an exclusive $700 off Imagine Cruising’s usual prices for Travelzoo members.

Itinerary highlights
You begin in Rio de Janeiro with your flight from Australia and a two-night stay at Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana, where Christ the Redeemer rises above the city, and a half-day tour captures sweeping views across beaches, mountains, and the coastline.
Flying to Iguazu Falls, you stay two nights on the Brazilian side at Recanto Cataratas Thermas Resort & Convention, where panoramic walkways reveal the scale of the cascades before a walking tour carries the experience across both sides of the falls.
Crossing to Argentina, a one-night stay at Mercure Iguazú Hotel Irú brings you closer to the rainforest trails and the thunder of Devil’s Throat, where mist rises and the falls feel immediate and immense.
In Buenos Aires, a one-night stay at DoubleTree by Hilton sets the stage for your embarkation on Majestic Princess, with grand avenues, elegant architecture, and port-city energy leading into your 17-night full-board cruise.
At Punta Arenas, Patagonia begins to feel close, where windswept landscapes, southern history and remote frontier atmosphere mark the journey toward the far south.
In Ushuaia, the mountains meet the Beagle Channel at the edge of Tierra del Fuego, forming the final dramatic gateway to Antarctic waters.
Across the Antarctic Peninsula, the journey reaches its most extraordinary scale, where glaciers, icebergs, penguin colonies, and silent bays create a landscape unlike anywhere else.
At Stanley in the Falkland Islands, rugged coastlines, remote settlement life and abundant birdlife bring a stark, windswept contrast to Antarctica.
In Montevideo, the pace softens along the Río de la Plata, where historic streets, markets and waterfront promenades introduce Uruguay’s relaxed capital.
Returning to Buenos Aires, an overnight in port completes the cruise, with time to absorb the city again before your flight home to Australia.
