The Small Print

This voucher is valid for an hour-long consultation (to assess the state of your health and lifestyle, and design a treatment tailored to your individual needs), followed by your choice of either an hour-long invigorating Vishesh massage, or an hour-long relaxing Abhyanga massage. Valid seven days a week, until 29 May, 2012 (excluding 25 December). Availability is limited on Saturday. Advance booking is required. Multiple vouchers may be purchased per person and additional vouchers may be purchased as gifts. 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations. Cannot be combined with any other offer. No cash value or cash back. Must be used by one person in one visit.

The Deal

Voted one of the top 10 celebrity spas in the UK by Marie Claire, Ayurveda Retreat specialises in the ancient science of ayurveda, a holistic therapy reportedly used by A-list celebrities including Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and Gwyneth Paltrow.
For just £29, you can experience this "oasis of calm" (Reading Post), any day of the week for the next six months, and indulge in the following:
- An hour-long consultation, during which an ayurveda consultant will assess the state of your health and lifestyle, before designing a tailor-made treatment program aimed at maintaining or restoring your health. Some of their recommendations may include advice relating to diet, herbal supplements and exercise (usually costs £50)
- A 60-minute full-body Abhyanga massage. Uses warm herb-infused oils to create a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The treatment ends with time spent inside a steam chamber, designed to help release toxins (worth £60)
- Or, a 60-minute Vishesh massage. An invigorating deep-tissue treatment designed to release physical and emotional tensions. This also concludes with time in the steam chamber (usually £60)
Located on Friar Street, Ayurveda Retreat certainly "makes an impression", according to the Reading Post, who were impressed with its "draped curtains, gold stars and calming candlelight". Berkshire Life agrees, saying that the massage "leaves your skin in a fabulous condition”.
