Described as a ''country of poetic landscapes'' by Frommer's, China is packed with must-see scenery and this 10-night deal from Travel Creator takes all the hassle out of planning a trip of this scale. At £1590 per person, the offer saves £479 on the usual price and includes all flights, 4-star accommodation and activities.
Here's what you get, in full:
The action-packed trip kicks off in Chengdu, the former capital of Sichuan, with a trip to Leshan, including a river cruise and a visit to the Giant Buddha (a giant statue carved from a cliff face). The Chengdu leg of the tour also includes an outing to the Panda Conservation Centre. The Tianfu Sunshine Hotel, which is a 10-minute walk from the city centre, has a pool, a gym and other leisure facilities.
The Xi’an stay includes an excursion to see the tomb of the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, and the Terracotta Warriors that are said to have accompanied him to the afterworld. In the evening, you will be treated to entertainment similar to that enjoyed by the emperor himself, almost 2,000 years ago. The King Dynasty Hotel, which has a traditional garden area, has internet access, a pool, a gym and other leisure facilities.
The final stop is Beijing, with visits to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City (an imperial palace that was off limits to the public for over 500 years) the Summer Palace, the Great Wall of China and the Temple of Heaven. Accommodation is at the PentaHotel, which has free Wi-Fi and is a 2-minute walk from Chongwenmen Metro Station.
