About the Destination

To reach the resort, travelers will fly into Puerto Vallarta Airport (PVR). From there, it's about a 45-minute drive to the resort. Airport transfers can be arranged through the hotel at an additional cost.

The grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed the buffet, game room and pool. The refrigerator was to the side of the cupboard it belonged in instead of inside. I asked them to please put it inside and they never did. The service wasn’t the best all the time. Sometimes it was very good other times it took us 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee. I was served the worst pina colada I’ve ever had and it was priced at nearly $20. Everything is way overpriced, especially for Mexico. $10 for a beer?!!

Unless you plan to stay at the hotel the entire time, I would recommend a rental car for visiting the area.

We booked this stay through Travelzoo and it was a great value overall. The $200 resort credit covered a full meal for us as a couple (one appetizer, two entrées, and sodas), which was a nice perk. Breakfast at Arbol was included and the buffet was solid and convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly everywhere we went — truly a standout part of the experience. Our room had a beautiful ocean view, though it did smell a bit damp/musky and could use some refreshing. We were also missing a few items initially, but the team resolved it quickly and without issue. The resort is very easy to drive to from PVR — straightforward roads and excellent security. The beach was lovely, and attendants were attentive with umbrellas and food service. It’s also a quick, easy drive to Sayulita for a fun day trip. Overall, we’d absolutely recommend staying here, especially at this price point.

The staff made this location amazing from the valet, to the attendants at Arbol like Karla and Lizbeth & Victor, to Lara at the Front Desk and to Humberto down at the Beach. Truly the staff make this location wonderful.

Upon check in despite requesting a king, was told they could only put us in a double Queen. We could “upgrade” to a 2 bedroom suite for $200/night. They then gave us the upgrade “complimentary” when we denied paying for the upgrade. Upon going to room this was not a beachfront. When discussing with the front desk they said they had no more beachfront rooms available. We confirmed our reservation months in advance and felt conned as we spent more money for the beachfront room versus ocean view.

Very nice resort; good layout; alot of pools along with the must have adults only pool; large hotel room with comfortable terrace. Fortunately, hotel not very busy so plenty of space around the pools and beach. And the mid January weather was perfect. Did take at least 45 mins to get to the hotel from the airport and of course, transportation is expensive.

Food choices, with the exception of Codex, which was excellent, the food was sub par. It looked pretty but was very mediocre. The price gouging was ridiculous. They charge 60 usd round trip to town. We figured out uber here is reliable and safe. The same trip to town was literally less than 10 usd. Round trip. Prices throughout the resort were inconsistent. The same brand of a glass of wine in one restaurant was 6 bucks. It was 17 bucks at a different restaurant in the resort. Very family friendly, lots of kids. I would prefer a more adult atmosphere. The resort us pretty isolated so book things to do outside the resort. We booked surfing lessons for 50 bucks for 2 hrs in Salulita near by. Through the resort, those lessons were 600 usd. Seriously? Beach is just ok. There are much more appealing beaches in close proximity with prettier water and better sand, with prices much much lower. The place is huge. If you like a more intimate property this one is not for you. Great for families, but for adults, ehh.
