"It was awesome. Good group of people, good staff. Loved the chairs and barrels. Did a canoe trip with another company, had dry bags, but no chairs. Food was good and plentiful. Nice touch with the wine."

This is very much an Outback Canoe trip! (which we did not quite expect). We were not prepared for quite the amount of portaging (mainly having so much gear and barrels to carry!), the thunder box, and the sear amount of mosquitos but then again we are newbie City folk and it had nothing to do with MHO. In fact without our two guides we would have given up. The guides not only had the patience to deal with newbies, the slow pace of families with small children, and grouchy teens...they cooked, cleaned, and carried the lion share of the gear during the portage! This trip is not for the faint at heart...our first day out it started to rain midday and it never stopped all day, all night! The equipment were good and kept us dry. The guides remained cheerful, friendly, encouraging, patient, upbeat, very knowledgeable, experienced, and efficient. The food was good and plentiful. My teens learned to start a fire, canoe, and fish! Our destination was well appointed--with the feeling of being very remote, on an island, but only 2 hours away from the highway! There was an abundance of wildlife--turtles, frogs, loons, bass, ducks, and other birds. There were even leeches at the water fall! Thank you Andrew and NoAmie! We would never have been able to give the kids this great experience without you guys! You made the Outback fun and safe for us!

MHO was great, booking was easy, and the experience and guides trip were phenomenal. A taste of back country canoeing and camping with guides to help manage the load of cooking and navigation, and allowing new campers and families to enjoy the experience more without worrying about the logistics of planning and day to day tasks.

My wife suffers from some health issues - mild back pain - and after attending the instructions at the meeting point before starting the canoe trip, we realized that it would have required a tremendous amount of paddling during the entire duration, with no options to stay in camp at times, as tents were to be moved to different locations. The itinerary we received as part of the welcome package didn't specify that, as we were under the impression we could choose when to go paddling, and when to stay in camp and relax. If we would have known all details beforehand, we would have never selected that particular adventure. Since we finally didn't join the excursion, and had to drive back home, I sent an email to MHO asking if some sort of refund was possible - even when we acknowledge it was a very last minute cancellation, and some penalties would apply - but haven't heard back from MHO yet.

It exceeded our expectations: food was incredible, the guides Riana and Angus amazing. But it was a little bit hard for beginners in canoeing and portage

Poorly planned. Lot’s of sitting around, no real planned activities.
