We do a West Coast getaway every year and we love staying in Ucluelet at the Canadian Princess. The location is convenient to everything. The hotel is clean and comfortable with an excel view of the marina.

The staff are some of the best around, they are always willing to go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. The new improvements to the property with the kitchen, outdoor lounge area and fire pit with bbq are a great addition. We can’t wait to come back.

Pet-friendly: THANK YOU!!! The staff AND the front office personnel were fantastic! I rate them 11 out of 10, except for the ones who gave me wrong information. The surroundings were great. The staff were so eager to help and so polite & kind. Even though the negatives were high, I still had a lovely time for my birthday get-away. If you were able to fix the negatives, I'd DEFINITELY return.

Missing dresser, full-length mirror, hairdryer, appropriate chair for the small desk. Tub and sink drained VERY slow. Likely, it's from pet food from cleaning the dishes. Use Draino regularly to unplug the sinks. No gate on balcony to get outside. No phone to contact front office. Mattress sagged severely on one side for each bed. Woke up with very sore back. Had to ask a male worker to help flip the mattress. A person who answered the phone a few days before I arrived said the room had no microwave or fridge; she was wrong. Another said there was no community swimming pool. Again, she was wrong and THAT was hard, as I'd been looking forward to a swim! Balcony door extremely difficult to lock. Had to get front office to do it.

The room shows sign of a hasty renovation and the building is showing signs of need of fresh paint and maintenance, but the location, service, and price make it a deal.

Older buildings but kept neat with upgraded bathroom/beds. Great view of the boat basin, large windows, and covered balcony. Blackout curtains, good heating system. Handy bar fridge, microwave, & Keurig. Our spacious room with loft (1 bed up, 2 down) had a lovely fireplace. NOT gas or electric, you can buy 2 Prestologs/Duralogs for $10 from the office and they give you a bbq lighter to use. There is a communal kitchen with lots of appliances and dishes/pots & pans that is great for groups or families to use. It certainly helped us save money on meals. PLEASE remember to clean your pots after use!! Staff very friendly and helpful. Reminder that they don't come in to clean or restock unless you schedule it, and you can always pick up extra supplies at the office in between. You are in a rain forest on west side of Vancouver Island so the room may smell a bit musty. We were there during a week-long atmospheric river though, so that would affect the mustiness. Worth returning, maybe in summer next time.

We were there for our 44th anniversary, and enjoyed our stay despite a week-long atmospheric river (poured for 5 days & nights straight.) We still got out to guided walks and shows and beaches during the Pacific Rim Whale Festival, but it was nice to get back to a warm spacious room with a lovely real log fireplace to sit by.

This is not our first stay at the Lodge. While not the place may not be luxurious per se, it certainly carries its charm. One remarkable instance worthy to mention was, when there was an incident, the personnel stepped forward and addressed it promptly and favourably, that spoke a lot about the Lodge's people and customer service! This is when the place advances in your rankings and distinguishes from others.

If you are not looking for a luxury accommodation, but for a very solid value, Canadian Princess Lodge must be on your list!
