About the Destination

Located between the Arabian and Laccadive Seas, the remote island nation of the Maldives is widely considered to have some of the best beaches in the world, with pristine white sand, clear turquoise water and world-class diving.

Airfare and transfers are not included with this offer. To reach Furaveri Maldives, fly to Malé International Airport (MLE). From there, it's roughly a 45-minute seaplane ride to the hotel (guests can arrange transfers via seaplane with the hotel reservations staff directly).

Voucher cancellation and refund policy: Within 14 days of purchase, Travelzoo will give you a full refund if you change your mind or can't find dates that suit you. Once you book your dates, changes and cancellations are subject to the hotel's cancellation or rescheduling policy and may result in a fee or voucher forfeiture. You must cancel your reservation directly with the hotel prior to refunding your voucher. Vouchers can be refunded online by going to "My Account.” After 14 days your voucher becomes nonrefundable. There were hidden resort costs not fully mentioned upfront that quickly added up to double the price for the holiday, i.e. seaplane roundtrip cost and the 27% (10% + 17%) resort and tourist fees on absolutely everything. The resort was advertised as 5*, but is more like 3,5*. Beautiful setting and very hard working staff.

Some guests were using all inclusive. That was not offered to us. The prices for all activities were very high, because of the mandatory 27% fee.

We had an amazing time during our stay at Furveri Maldives. From start to finish it was absolutely exceptional. Floating breakfast was a great experience. Wonderful staff like Manaan our room attendant, Ramesh who drove us on the golf cart, Dill our consierge were all spectacular! Food was fresh and delicious! Gorgeous beaches and snorkeling. It never felt busy.

The food was subpar. The staff were nice but not extraordinary. The accommodations were decent but not great. We had wasps hanging around the roof line outside our balcony which made it hard to enjoy. I think the staff tried to deal with it but they were unsuccessful.

A really wonderful resort with great snorkeling, excellent food, and very friendly and accommodating staff. Previous reviews have made some negative comments about food and property upkeep- we found none of that to be true. They are nearly finished upgrading all the overwater villas - we stayed in one and it was great. Not sure about the beach villas , but from what we could see they were very nice too. Didn’t see any run down areas. Buffet dinner themes varied daily - the nights with regional food ( Indian, Arabian, Maldivian, etc) were amazing. The Western theme nights (Mexican, Mediterranean and Italian) were not quite as good , but still well above average . Basically 4-5 star US hotel buffet quality. Every night they had 3-4 Indian selections which were always delicious ( and spicy) . Breakfast buffet was always good , with enough variation that we didn’t get tired of anything. We didn’t even feel the need to pay extra for the a la carte restaurants. Snorkeling was better than anywhere in Hawaii or Caribbean/Florida. Staff was remarkably friendly, particularly buggy drivers and room attendants. Shout out to Saiful who did amazing work on our room twice daily, rescued us from a room lockout , and kept up with our ridiculous consumption of the bottled water. On that note, copious water is now complimentary in all rooms and restaurants . Not the 2 1.5 liters daily that was previously mentioned. Good thing because it is HOT and humid there! ( and we’re from central Texas!) We were not expecting that much heat. The sun is brutal too, being near the equator. so we had to drink way more than usual to stay hydrated. Fortunately we were in the water most of the heat of the day! Great vacation- would definitely recommend.
