Aptly named Orca Inn, watch these majestic whales swim past your oceanview room at this cozy waterfront stay in the heart of one of British Columbia’s most culturally rich coastal communities. Wake up to panoramic views of the Inside Passage, explore nearby Indigenous heritage sites and forest trails, then unwind with the peaceful rhythm of island life just steps from your door.
To experience this authentic B.C. retreat, you'd usually pay $280 a night. But as Club Members, we pay $99 when staying two or more nights, and get a $40 gas card to help cover the trip.
What's Included
- Two guests stay in an Oceanview Queen room:
- $99 per night … through June
- Member Days bonus: $40 Esso gas card (limit one per hotel, not valid for multiple stays at the same hotel)

More Reasons to Go
- The inn is set right on the waterfront in Alert Bay, with views across the Inside Passage where orcas, seals and eagles are often spotted
- It's housed in a historic building, originally built in the 1930s, that reflects the area’s long coastal and fishing heritage, giving the stay a classic small-town feel
- You'll be surrounded by rainforest, beaches and cultural landmarks, including easy access to walking trails and the renowned U'mista Cultural Centre
- Orca Inn is also home to an oceanfront pub, popular with both locals and visitors—an easy spot for casual seafood, a drink and sunset views after a day exploring
About the Destination
Getting to Alert Bay is part road trip, part coastal voyage—and that’s exactly the appeal. Begin with a BC Ferries crossing from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo, then follow Highway 19 north through the forests and shoreline communities of Vancouver Island toward Port McNeill. From there, a final 45-minute ferry ride carries you across the water to Cormorant Island.
