Why We Love This Hotel

  • Previously a 1950s brick apartment building, The Anndore House relaunched in 2018 with historical accents and modern comforts
  • Each of the 115 industrially designed rooms has a rainforest shower and plush leather club chairs
  • Local favourite Crows Nest barbershop, born out of the city’s eclectic Kensington Market, is located right inside the hotel
  • On-site Constantine restaurant focuses on the cuisine of distinct regions in the Mediterranean
  • Its casual counterpart, Scarlet Door café, serves the daytime crowd with unique coffees and pastries—the interior is designed to give a nod to the punk and new wave scenes that defined the neighbourhood in the 1970s and 1980s
  • The hotel is steps away from the bright lights of Yonge and Bloor, and a short walk from galleries, theatres, shops and nightlife—the full-service guest experience team will happily suggest what to see and do in the area

"Our 2-Queen room at the Anndore House was stylish, spacious, clean and comfortable! The hotel staff was welcoming and the location is excellent - a very short walk from the Bloor/Yonge subway station. Highly recommended!"

We were called by the Anndore house just before arrival and told us the accommodation was not available due to some issue. They rerouted us to Hotel X where we stayed. They covered the hotel under the existing booking and provided a credit for breakfast. All was good only because at every step the people were very nice, understanding and accommodating.

We love this hotel. It is in a perfect, quiet location, walking distance to so many attractions or just steps from the TTC. Great amenities, fantastic bar and delicious restaurant. We can’t wait to come back!

This hotel is well-located, a three-minute walk to Bloor subway station. The vibe was urban chic, the staff were agreeable. The room was very pleasant, with a good sitting area-- the hotel website clearly shows the King Loft room. Overall room layout was functional, with enough places to put things. Vinyl tile flooring with a carpet in the sitting area. TV easy to operate. Bedding was comfortable. Window opened. HVAC was not overly noisy. Of course, one could complain about street noise including dumpsters clanging at 6:00 am on Saturday--but that comes with the location. The California shutters were nice, but did not provide full blackout coverage, so if that's important to you, be forewarned. The included breakfast was top notch, and the dining area was inviting. N.B. breakfast does not begin until 9:30 on Saturday and Sunday.

In-room coffee experience: the pop up single cup pour-over seemed neat, but in the end was slow, and didn't work too well (I had the pod inside the cup, maybe there is a way to make it sit above the cup). Nespresso, please.

Customer service at this hotel has been stellar both times we’ve gone. Rooms are great. Lounge and restaurant are nice to have attached. However the promote happy hour a lot on social media, especially the oysters and when we ordered oysters she acted surprised we ordered them and said they didn’t have any. Which was kind of odd. The location isn’t great but not terrible. Overall it was a really good experience.

One suggestion for the hotel Is to provide a towel hook or rod to hang a hand towel beside the sink. There’s plenty of room for that and it’s messy/awkward to just leave the towel on the counter. Otherwise the room is excellent.

The check in staff are super freindly and even gave me an upgrade at check in! The rooms are spotless and have everything you need to feel comfortable, including robes and water. The valet had my car to pick me up in less than 5 minutes. This area is totally walkable and safe. Lots to see in do in the area.
