Why We Love It

  • Modern touches at this hotel, named after Her Majesty, include Apple TVs with free Netflix movies in some rooms
  • Free Wi-Fi is available to all guests

The historic Hotel Victoria is tucked amid the high-rises of Toronto's Financial District. Named after Queen Victoria, the hotel started welcoming guests in 1909 and was rejuvenated with more modern touches in 2011.

Past guests have raved about its location - shopping, dining and some of the city's top attractions are minutes away from the hotel, including the Hockey Hall of Fame, Sony Centre for the Arts, St. Lawrence Market and the Scotiabank Arena, just to name a few. For further exploration, the King Street subway is a few steps outside the hotel's front door. On site, guests can refuel at the popular and well-reviewed Over Easy restaurant for breakfast and lunch (open 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.).

Guest rooms feature modern, custom-designed furniture and new beds while upgrading to a Business or Deluxe room adds more space, oversized bathtubs and free in-room Netflix movies through Apple TV. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi.

There is no on-site parking; however, the hotel can provide area recommendations for parking (rates start at $30 per day).

Explore Canada’s cultural capital with adventure-filled activities, eye-catching shows and award-winning restaurants from top street-side patios to skyscraper dining rooms.

Location and helpful staff!

Minor details..........they could have supplied glasses rather than thin plastic ones. Toilet lever was hanging off the vessel making flushing a nuisance.

Location was excellent. Easy walk to theatres, shopping, train station.
Other Comments
1) Breakfast was included in the price but wasn't really breakfast. Muffin and coffee are not so much breakfast, but snacks. 2) This hotel was booked through travelzoo and was a gift for us from our children. A credit card was used for booking, but we were required to pay on our own credit card instead of the one used to make the booking.

Classical architectural features, crown mouldings, high ceilings and stylish rooms. Fabulous breakfast choices too! I ordered the Heathly Breakfast which featured oat meal, scrambled egg whites, fruit bowl and toast [which I skipped as I'm gluten intolerant]. Great value with the voucher. $6.68 plus HST!! You can't beat that.

Although there is no onsite parking, it is easy to quickly stop in front and drop off your luggage. The parking is about a 7-10 minute walk away on Church St., but very economical, compared to other nearby parking options.

Beds were comfortable, room was a good size, location was very close to Union Station .... walkable with luggage.
Other Comments
We were given a room at the front of the hotel facing Yonge St. The noise of traffic, sirens, cars without mufflers, etc kept me awake the majority of the night. It was Saturday night, so there is bound to be lots of partying downtown, however, something should be done to keep the noise out of the room. OR don't put guests in the front rooms on weekends.
