This 232-room hotel is an elegant white building with views of Hagia Sophia's impressive dome and minarets. It's in the heart of Istanbul's historic Sultanahmet district making it a popular choice with those who wish to visit the area's high concentration of cultural sights and attractions. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque, is less than 500 metres from the hotel and there are many more places of interest nearby too, such as the Grand Bazaar, which is one of the oldest covered markets in the world. It's around a kilometre from the hotel and has more than 4,000 shops and stalls selling everything from exotic spices and jewellery to ceramics and carpets.
After a busy morning taking in the sights, the Sura Spa offers a range of rejuvenating treatments including aroma massages, reflexology and body wraps. Spa facilities include a Turkish bath, a steam room, a sauna, an ice fountain and an outdoor pool, as well as a fitness centre.
There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat in Sultanahmet -- there are restaurants serving everything from traditional meze and kebabs, to fast food and fresh seafood. The hotel has two restaurants serving Turkish and international cuisine.
The comfortable rooms feature bold design features and are decorated in calming neutrals with pops of colour provided by abstract wall art and contemporary furniture. Standard rooms have city views, while some higher-category rooms have views of Hagia Sophia. There are inter-connected family rooms, as well as spacious suites.
