Overview

The rolling acres of Sherwood Inn on Lake Joseph beckon guests with fun activities year-round. In the wintertime, snowshoe or ski the scenic trails. During the summer months, take a kayak or paddleboard out on the tree-lined waters. Activities that suit any season include soaks in the hot tub or hitting the fitness centre to get in a workout.

In the evenings, head to The Vintage Dining Room, where the freshest ingredients are used to craft delectable cuisine. Entrees may include items like slow-braised lamb shank and pan-seared pickerel. The restaurant is also open for breakfast and lunch.

After a day of activities, head to a guest room with a view of the lake or the garden. Some rooms also have Jacuzzi tubs.

In the summer, avid golfers will enjoy the opportunity to hit the links at Rocky Crest Golf Club, named one of Canada’s best courses by Golfweek in 2014. Well-manicured greens and breathtaking scenery are just a couple of the bonuses to playing this course. Two additional golf courses, The Lake Joseph Club and Mark O’Meara Course at Grandview, are also offered private access for guests (open in the summer only).

The $20, plus taxes, nightly resort fee covers Wi-Fi access, on-site recreation activities, hot tub access, fitness centre access and parking.

The location, absolutely beautiful grounds.

Bathroom had significant water damage. NO HEAT closest to bedroom. Without fireplace, we would have froze. Three baseboard heaters and only two worked.. one closest to door worked ok, bathroom hardly at all and heater closest to bed and chairs did not work at all. Dinner was good but very, very expensive. Not worth the money.

Breakfast waitress and other visitors were wonderful to interact with. If there were more activities available it could be a great place to bring friends etc. (Speaking of activities, spa was closed, hot tub broken, etc so eat, walk, and sleep were only things to do)
Other Comments
The path to my room was neglected and had very slippery ice in front of it. The room was very dirty, soo much loose debris on the floor of the room, as if not vacuumed for weeks. The heater in the room was scorching and couldn't turn it off, plus the window was broken. Felt uncomfortable leaving the door ajar for air because it would invite wild animals in. One receptionist was snappy and unwelcoming in nature.
