We were warmly welcomed both at the front desk and the Gold Floor check-ins, thought our room was lovely, and found the staff in the Gold Floor lounge delightful. Hotel is in the best location; we were able to walk to most of the places we visited. The hotel is historic and very beautiful. The only downside is the parking situation. The offer valet only and it is $68 per day which adds up if you’re there more than a couple of nights. We would definitely stay at the Chateau Laurier again if we get back to Ottawa.

Also… not a fan of the pillows so bring your own if you’re picky! Lots of places to eat within walking distance and head to Piccolo Grande for delicious gelato!

I have stayed at many Fairmont properties, and the Gold Room at this location was not as impressive as the other ones I have stayed in across Canada. However, the amenities and food provided in the lounge were great. The staff was also fantastic and very helpful.

The hotel was fantastic, unfortunately Travelzoo dropped the ball. I booked the Fairmont Gold King package and arrived to check in and was booked by travelzoo into a standard suite. The hotel was lovely and I was able to provide my booking info from travelzoo and they put me in the correct room, but they shouldn’t have had to do this and was disappointing to say the least. I have never had an issue booking with travelzoo before but this kind of thing used to happen with booking.com Andi’s why I no longer use them.

Our overall experience was positive, despite some confusion about our reservation. The front desk initially believed our booking was only for January 29th, not January 23rd, even though Travel Zoo confirmed the January 23rd date by email. This nearly led to us losing our room. We found Zoe's restaurant to be underwhelming. The hostess was friendly, attentive and provided us with good seating arrangements. However, the food and service were only satisfactory, and the limited menu did not meet our expectations. We anticipated higher quality and more variety, given the price. Overall, we would rate the restaurant 2 out of 5 stars.

We would not have booked this road trip to Ottawa without the awesome travelzoo deal at the chateau. So, thank you travelzoo. We loved being central to many of the things we wanted to see and being able to walk most places.

The chateau was lovey and we were given an upgraded room which was very appreciated. The valet parking daily charge seemed a bit steep but maybe it is the same everywhere. We were happy to know our car was safely parked for our three nights. The location of the chateau was a big part of our having a great getaway!

We absolutely loved our time at the chateau. The room was above and beyond our expectations. Lovely view. Comfortable bed. Great amenities. Air conditioning was efficient and quiet. The floor was definitely quiet. Everything was immaculate.
Found the prices to be very expensive though for breakfast and dining.
Handy to walk to Parliament buildings and shopping and market area.

The drink Zoe’s Garden cocktail was the most delicious I’ve ever had. Although pricey but worth it. I enjoyed the behind the scenes tour. Indefinitely hope to be back. It was a little tricky driving to find the entrance for checking in.

The pool should have better steps for entering into the water. I witnessed a patron with arthritis have an extremely difficult time getting in and out of the pool. Needs more accessible options.
It would be nice to have options for outdoor seating. The only current option is the outdoor restaurant. This is not ideal. Nice outdoor sitting areas with comfortable furniture is needed.

The entire Hotel is NOT Accessible at all for a handicapped person who walks with a cane. There are stairs everywhere inside the hotel that I was forced to use if I wanted to get around inside. It was SO bad for me. PARKING is not available so we had to PARK 2 blocks away and haul our luggage up to the hotel by ourselves. Uphill all the way. The front desk didn't care one bit how difficult this was for me. I plan to take this issue up with the City of Ottawa and CBC Marketplace. The Hotel offers ZERO help for disabled guests. I am disgusted and angry about all of it.

The only negative was that the parking lot was full already an hour before check in so we had to park at the Rideau centre, and walk over, which was a bit annoying for a hotel of their calibre - they should have enough parking spots for registered guests and decline people coming for an event rather than hotel guests.

I guess I am too old but $25 for 5 oz of middle of road was a bit much. Make it 8 Oz and perhaps my reasonable. Extra 3 ox would not appreciably add to cost.

We truly enjoyed our experience staying at the Chateau on the gold lounge floor. The canape spread from 5-7 was enough to be our dinner. Desserts followed at 7pm. The breakfast was spectacular with many options. The concierge was very attentive in anything we needed. It was a truly fun filled pampered evening.
