Step into the lobby of the Omni Parker House Hotel, and you are instantly immersed in history. The longest continuously operating hotel in the United States, the hotel has hosted every president between Ulysses S. Grant and Bill Clinton for dinners and conferences. It’s here that John F. Kennedy made his first public speech at the age of 6, later in life announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate and even proposed to Jacqueline Bouvier. Literary legends have also held court within its walls, as Charles Dickens gave his first public reading of “A Christmas Carol” and Longfellow drafted “Paul Revere’s Ride”.

At the corner of Tremont and School Streets, guests are at the border of the financial district and Beacon Hill neighborhoods. Just a short stroll down Tremont Street leads to Boston Common, the oldest park in the country. The hotel conveniently sits on the Freedom Trail, a collection of sites along a path that pays homage to the story of the American Revolution.

Culinary innovation flourishes at the hotel -- Boston cream pie and Parker House Rolls were invented at the on-site Parker’s Restaurant. Guest rooms are equipped with historic vintage decor and modern amenities like plush robes and triple sheeting. The hotel’s impressive fitness center is equipped with everything from a bench press to elliptical machines, and is complimentary to guests.

It would be nice to have a refrigerator in the room for no additional charge

Enjoyed Most
The complimentary boston cream pie and the assistance from the front desk regarding locations of things to do and how to get there.
Other Comments
It would have been nice, since we stayed in the Executive Suite, to have a refrigerator. I was surprised we didn't have one.

Enjoyed Most
The location and the fact that we COULD bring a dog.
Other Comments
Expensive to bring a pet ($100). Room was shabby. Room was not cleaned during our 2 night stay. We found pills on the floor when we got there which means the vacuuming was not done properly. They did send us 2 Boston Cream Pies because we notified them of the pills and that the dog could have eaten them. Too much money for the stay.
