Why We Love This Hotel

  • Once a library in the early 1900s, each room now evokes a famous writer, philosopher, artist or politician—from Charlotte Brontë to Mahatma Gandhi
  • All guests of the hotel can enjoy the hotel's sauna and fitness room, or treat themselves to a Turkish bath or a spa treatment for an additional fee
  • The on-site restaurant is airy and vibrant with international flavours, plus there's a lobby bar and rooftop terrace
  • Narrow Street, lined with Georgian houses and a historic pub once frequented by Charles Dickens, is less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel on the River Thames
  • You reach central London in under 30 minutes; this hotel is a five-minute walk from Limehouse station, and both Canary Wharf and Bank stations are two stops in either direction

Travelzoo tip: The Elizabeth line connects Heathrow Aiport directly to Canary Wharf. From there, you can take a short bus ride to the hotel, or walk 15 minutes along the Thames and Narrow Street.

The hotel does not have a car park which was not a problem, we used "Just Park" and found a space directly behind the hotel. There are plenty of buses, tube etc near by. It has easy access, we had a warm welcome, an accessible room, The Mozart which has a wet room for me, very nice. Food, we had a good choice of breakfast and a treat of a Cream Tea which was more than we could eat. They have a lovely roof top terrace worth a visit. My wife had a treatment in their beautifully appointed Turkish Spa by Atakan who she rated very highly. The Turkish bath looks stunning . We will be back.

This was originally the local library but has been nicely upgraded into a 70+ room hotel. You must have photo ID to stay. Lots of interesting furniture, paintings, the owner has an interest in china items, characters. Very friendly and helpful staff.
