WE Day Toronto to Unite 20,000 Young Change-Makers
Actor Nick Robinson and the Muppets’ Miss Piggy, alongside Arkells, Olympic medallist Penny Oleksiak, and Margaret Trudeau, are set to take the stage when WE Day returns to Toronto at Scotiabank Arena on Sept. 20.
Travelzoo has partnered with WE to make travel more meaningful, and that's why we're proud to promote the world’s largest youth and family empowerment event. In fact, 10 Travelzoo members were selected — by sharing their favourite personal volunteering story — to join 20,000 youth and educators from across the province for a life-changing experience featuring renowned speakers, innovative thought leaders and celebrity performers.
This year, WE has invited fresh faces and old favourites up on stage. The rest of the lineup includes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, March for our Lives co-founders Adam Alhanti and Delaney Tarr, Ally Brooke, Celebrity Marauders, Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons, Ann Curry, Millie Davis, Adam Devine, Olivia Holt, Jack & Jack, LaurDIY and the Muppets’ Animal and Fozzie Bear. Johnny Orlando will join Mason Ramsey, Jessie Reyez, Lilly Singh, Jacob Tremblay, Tai Young, Spencer West and Why Don’t We.
Joining this lineup are WE’s co-founders, Craig and Marc Kielburger. Together, they’ll share their passion for change and energize the Toronto crowd.
“We’re surrounded by a generation of young people who are working together to get doing, bringing their unique perspectives to the movement and creating the future they want to see. This generation is speaking up and the world is listening,” said Craig Kielburger.
You can't buy a ticket to WE Day — students must earn their way in by taking action on one local and one global issue of their choice. This past year, WE Schools participants across Ontario volunteered more than 1.8 million hours and raised over $6 million in support of over 2,200 causes including hunger, poverty, the environment and bullying.
Travelzoo will be taking part in the celebration, so please follow along on Facebook as we bring you our own highlights from the event.
Following WE Day Toronto, festivities continue later that same day with the third annual WE Day Family Toronto. Families will enjoy an evening of music and inspiration while continuing to learn how to make their local communities, and the world, a better place.
WE Day is coming to Edmonton on Oct. 12, Winnipeg on Oct. 30, and Ottawa on Nov. 14. Vancouver will host WE Day Family on Nov. 21 and WE Day on Nov. 22.
