The Fine Print

Vouchers can be redeemed starting Tuesday, March 6, and trips can be booked through Aug. 31, 2012. Reservations are required. Valid on upper section trip only. Trips run at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Not valid July 3-5. Riders must be at least 8 years old and weigh at least 70 pounds. Tax and gratuity are not included. The Deal

Paddle down the upper section of the Pigeon River with a certified guide with this Local Deal from Big Creek Expeditions. For $35, this three-hour experience is suitable for beginner and intermediate rafters. The package, which includes a souvenir CD with professionally taken shots of your raft traveling down the river, regularly costs $69.95.

The day begins with orientation and safety training at the campsite in Hartford, Tenn. Then, take a short shuttle ride to the start of the Pigeon River and embark on a 90-minute paddle through waters ranging from calm to Class III and IV rapids while taking in views of Cherokee National Forest and the Smoky Mountains.

Trips run at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Additional times and days will be added after Memorial Day, May 28. More information on this trip, including directions to the campsite, can be found on the website.

Terms and Conditions
