The Fine Print

Vouchers can be redeemed starting Tuesday, Aug. 23, through Aug. 22, 2012. Reservations are required, must be made 72 hours in advance and are subject to availability. Call between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Hawaii time to schedule a class. Limit 1 voucher per person per visit. Group lessons hold 3-4 people each. Voucher is subject to forfeiture if you cancel or reschedule your reservation with less than 48 hours notice. Tax and gratuity are not included. This deal cannot be combined with any other offers. Must be used in 1 visit. No cash value or cash back.

The Deal

Learn how to ride the waves during one-on-one instruction from world surfing champion Dane Kealoha. For $29 per person, regularly $60, join his hour group lesson that includes surfboard rental. This three- to four-person class not only provides hands-on training to master the swells, it also touches on oceanography topics such as the formation of reefs and tide changes.

The 1983 world surfing champion, Dane started teaching locals and tourists the art of surfing 10 years ago. Lessons are now held Monday to Saturday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. near Waikiki's Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa.

For students who prefer a smaller group, a lesson for two people is $39 per person (regularly $80), and a private lesson is $59 per person (regularly $160).
