The Deal

Named after the Philadelphia-set '80s flick "Trading Places," Winthorpe & Valentine at The Westin in Rittenhouse Square is a "breath of fresh air" according to the South Philly Review. For $55, two diners can savor a three-course meal with drinks at this recently revamped restaurant, a meal that regularly costs up to $137.

This dinner for two includes:

• Any two appetizers, like the grilled jumbo shrimp skewers with chili lime vinaigrette, and baby arugula salad with beets and goat cheese from Pennsylvania's Lancaster Farms

• Any two entrees, such as dry-aged Angus cowboy steak with shallot herb butter and fries, and North Atlantic day boat scallops with whipped potatoes and vegetables

• A dessert tray of five miniature sweets: Served in shot glasses, the selections change daily and may include treats like chocolate mousse and strawberry cheesecake

• Two drinks such as the Mortimer cocktail (whiskey, simple syrup and bitters) and more than 20 wines by the glass
