The Deal

Watts Roost Vineyard in Lewisburg, W.V., specializes in nurturing French hybrid vines that have produced award-winning wines since opening in 1998. With this exclusive Local Deal, Travelzoo subscribers can spend the afternoon at the 9.5-acre family-owned vineyard tucked away at the foot of Muddy Creek Mountain with a wine tasting and vineyard tour for two people for $19, regularly $36.

Enter the remodeled 1830s farmhouse for an experience that includes:

• Guided vineyard tour: Explore the production area while learning the history of the vineyard

• Two wine tastings including seven to 10 pours each, incorporating both reds and whites like the 2009 Chambourcin, Greenbrier, 2008 Leon Millot or 2008 Vidal Blanc, which won a gold medal at the 2010 West Virginia Commercial Wine Competition

• Two souvenir glasses

• Choice of any two bottles of wine to take home

Guests are welcome to walk around the grounds, which also serves as a full working farm with sheep, alpacas and donkeys. Bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy by the pond while taking in the scenic countryside views.

Vineyard hours are weather dependent. Valid Thursday through Saturday from 1-6 p.m only. The vineyard is located 2 miles off Route 60 West; refer to map seen here for exact location.
