The Deal

The Riverfront Times praises the "dream-world quality" of the World Aquarium, located within the City Museum, and calls it a "kid's thrill." With this Local Deal starting at $25, two people can spend hours crawling through the shark tank; exploring Sand Castle City; and observing fish, turtles, amphibians, reptiles, sloths, otters and more on one of four guided tours -- with discounts of up to 75%.

Choose from the following tours led by aquarium curators and educators, which require no extra admission fees:

• For $25 (regularly $100), two can spend up to three hours on a Discovery Adventure Tour, a guided trip through the entire area with hands-on access to stingrays, sharks and more -- perfect for first-time visitors

• For $25 (regularly $50), two can take a 90-minute Light & Lively Tour, offering a quick-yet-comprehensive museum experience with a Q&A session; great for children or people with limited time downtown

• For $49 (regularly $100), take a Seafari Experience Tour for two, featuring a half hour of feeding time and the most behind-the-scenes access with the opportunity to work alongside aquarium staff 

• For $99 (regularly $200), two can get up close and personal with with the museum's most intense tour, the Extreme Adventure Tour, with a focus on learning about what animals eat, as well as the opportunity to watch multiple feedings and get hands-on with animals like tarantulas and scorpions; includes a shark-tooth necklace as a souvenir
