The Deal

For $19, spot gray whales in peak migratory season, plus dolphins and other marine life, from the deck of The Privateer with this deal from San Diego Whale Watch. This three-hour whale-watching cruise is regularly $38.

A certified marine biologist with more than 15 years of experience narrates the journey, and points out marine wildlife including the Pacific gray whales as they migrate south from Alaska to Baja California (through March), bottlenose dolphins, harbor seals and sea lions. Cruise-goers can also view the downtown skyline, Coronado Bridge, North Island, the historic Spanish Lighthouse on Point Loma and the US Naval fleet.

Cruises depart from Mission Bay daily at 10 a.m., with an additional trip on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:30 p.m. The 87-foot Privateer features climate-controlled indoor and outdoor seating and a snack bar.
