The Deal

The historic Delta King Hotel in Old Sacramento is a "1920s riverboat-turned-floating-hotel" that houses The Pilothouse restaurant, recommended by The New York Times in its feature "36 Hours in Sacramento." The Delta King was built to carry passengers between San Francisco and Sacramento and now serves as a "charming" permanent fixture on the American River with "unparalleled river views," says Frommer's. Choose from the entire menu:

• Two soups or salads, such as the soupe du jour or a small organic green mixed salad (up to $6 each)

• Shared appetizer, such as Hawaiian Ahi tacos with wasabi soy vinaigrette, sprouts and mango coulis; or Dungeness crab cakes with remoulade sauce

• Two main courses, such as the petit filet mignon with rum au poivre and potato aligot or the seafood cioppino with fresh fish, aqua gem clams, P.E.I. mussels, scallops, prawns and Dungeness crab

• Two desserts, such as the heavenly flourless chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream or the blueberry cheesecake with a graham cracker crust and a fresh honey and blueberry sauce
