The Deal

Coast down the American River with this Local Deal for a beginner-friendly inflatable kayak trip with Mariah Wilderness Expeditions. For $35 per person, perfect your paddling skills on this three-hour excursion on the river's South Fork, regularly $75.

Trips begin at the Mariah campground kitchen at 9 a.m., where you will prep and board a shuttle bound for the starting point inside Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. Get an introduction to the sport from your guide, including paddling techniques and safety tips. From there, hoist your kayak in the water and start in the smooth, still area of the water to perfect your skills. Kayakers will then enter the more active part of the river, taking on Class I-II rapids down the South Fork before finishing the trip in the Mariah campground swimming hole.

Terms and Conditions
Vouchers can be redeemed starting Friday, April 27, through Sept. 1, 2012. Reservations are required and are based on availability; must be made by phone. A minimum of 6 people is required for trips to depart. Must be 12 years old or older to use this deal. Tax, gratuity and an 8% river use fee are not included. Voucher is subject to forfeiture if you cancel or reschedule your reservation with less than 24 hours' notice. This deal cannot be combined with any other offer. Must be used in 1 visit. Subject to local weather conditions.
