The Deal

Embark on an exhilarating two-day outdoor experience including wine tasting and white-water rafting with this Local Deal from Adventure Connection. For $179, Travelzoo subscribers can go on a two-day, two-night camping excursion with a day of wine tastings in El Dorado County followed by a full day of rafting on the South Fork rapids of the American River. This package is regularly $369 including taxes and fees and includes two breakfasts, two lunches and a fireside barbecue dinner.

Begin your adventure in the evening and pitch a tent at a riverside site in Coloma, about 50 minutes east of Sacramento. Rise and shine for an omelet breakfast with juice, coffee and fruit before taking off for a full day of winery tours and tastings at three to five producers, which may include the "stunning" Boeger Winery, voted Best Winery by the Mountain Democrat, or the 100% solar-powered Madrona Vineyards.

A picnic lunch is provided between winery visits that includes gourmet meats and cheeses, breads and fruit. The first day wraps up around the campfire with a barbecue dinner of steak and chicken, plus beer, wine and sodas.

The second day commences with a pancake breakfast before traversing more than 11 thrilling miles of South Fork rapids, including the "Triple Threat" and the "Trouble Maker." After the rafting trip, return to camp for a large barbecue burger lunch and head home around 3 p.m.
