$99 - Oceanside 5-Course Chef's Menu for 2 w/Wine, Reg. $199

The Deal

The Californian at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa is a AAA 4-Diamond restaurant introducing its chef's menu to Travelzoo subscribers before anyone else -- and with an exclusive discount. For $99 instead of the regular $199, two people can dine oceanside during a five-course dinner with wine pairings. 

The restaurant gives way to panoramic views of the Pacific from the dining room and outdoor patio. The setting complements the "wonderfully prepared" cuisine, according to Zagat, which also rates the food, decor and service 24-25 ("very good to excellent").

This seasonal menu will be available starting March 30:

First course: Pan-seared scallop with cauliflower puree, Waldorf salad and curry oil
-- Paired with JCB N°21 Brut Cremant de Bourgogne (Burgundy, France)

Second course: Spring onion soup with Drake Family Farm’s goat cheese, rocket and lemon

Third course: Frisee salad with a poached cage-free egg, asparagus, bacon lardons, herb croutons and a simple vinaigrette
-- Paired with Silver Birch Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand)

Fourth course (select one each):
• Grilled natural filet with Kennebec potato gratin, grilled king oyster mushrooms and pinot noir vinaigrette
• Pan-roasted salmon with sweet pea puree, fennel and carrot salad, asparagus risotto, edamame, pine nuts and pecorino cheese
• Buttermilk-fried free-range chicken with tomatillo and poblano cream, cotija cheese and crisp vegetable slaw
-- Paired with Gloria Ferrer Pinot Noir (Carneros, Calif.)

Fifth course: Meyer lemon cheesecake with blood orange reduction and cream
-- Paired with coffee or tea (up to $4 each)
